NEW IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!! DO NOT use Simple Solution Stain and Odor Remover in lieu of this product as stated in my last update. Use this Simple Green Product! For months we had bouts off and on of diarrhea and vomiting. Nothing serious, and we kept chalking it up to nerves with the training dogs since it was so inconsistent and would last only a couple of days. But still it was weird since it was becoming more regular. Turns out as the weather warmed up we were spraying the yard more often, sometimes shortly before the dogs went out in the evening. Once session it was especially bad and we took a couple of dogs to the vet. They tested negative with parasites and there was no indication of bacteria or a virus and the vet suggested that they had eaten something. DING DING DING!! We actually worked it out that the vomiting and diarrhea seems to always start the day after we sprayed the yard, then it would clear up, then we'd spray the yard again and it came back. We didn't keep written records or anything, but there seemed to be a rough pattern. We immediately stopped using Simple Solution and went back to Simple Green and BAM! No more diarrhea and vomiting. I still recommend Simple Solution for indoor use, but it MUST be dry before letting your dog near it. For outdoor use stick with this product. To compensate for it not being as effective, just be sure to use it before the pee smell is too bad. If we wait too long and the smell is strong we have to use it for 2-4 days to get back up to speed. So it's more important to use it on a schedule. We use it 1-2 times per week, and up to 3-4 times a week when it's hot. Keep in mind we have 8 dogs at a time peeing on it. And make sure you're using lots of water! Also, we only use it after all play time is done at night so it has all night to dry, just to be safe, even though we've never had this product cause health problems. In fact, late one night I had to give a puppy an extra potty break. We had already sprayed the yard and there was even a shallow puddle of solution and water, which of course he ran straight over and started licking! I got him away as fast as I could, but he got a few licks in. We watched him carefully the next day. No illness at all! So now we are very comfortable with this product and can use it with confidence. UPDATE: After several months - and very hot summer - of use, I have decided that the Simple Solution Stain and Odor Remover works better than this one. Really I would venture to say that it helps to alternate. Maybe they each kill different strains of odor-causing bacteria. If you aren't having great results, be sure to check out Simple Solution, even though it's labeled as an indoor product. The downside to that one, though, is that it has a stronger smell. I do love how this Simple Green one as no discernible odor of it's own. It still works very well and I'll leave my rating at 5 stars since I think I'm really trying to achieve the impossible (perfectly stink-free lawn) and I'm happy to have any help at all! Original Review: Works great on our artificial lawn. We live in Southern California and keep dogs at our home for training. We'll have up to 8 dogs pottying on about 1000 square feet of fake grass for two weeks at a time and it gets STINKY. We fill a hose-attached pesticide sprayer with this stuff and douse the yard. The smell is completely eliminated. In the summer we use this 1-2 times a week. There is then no smell for at least a day or two and then a very mild stink for up to a week before we have to apply it again. In the winter we use this only once every 3-4 weeks. There is no smell for about a week and then a tolerable smell for a couple more weeks. Be sure to spray this on the yard AFTER THE SUN GOES DOWN. The UV rays will kill the living enzymes and it won't work. I tried it. It won't even work on a cloudy day. Also, be sure to use a generous amount of water. Don't just spritz the grass, give it a good soak. We use about 16 oz for our 1000 square foot yard, but it takes about 15 minutes to apply it with a hose sprayer since we use a lot of water. We've experimented many different volumes of cleaner and water and this combo works well for us.

I rebuy this item frequently. I have two dogs that love to make my concrete patio smelly. I use this weekly outdoors and it works wonders. I’ve even taken to diluting this in spray bottles and using it for any indoor accidents as well. Many people swear by agent orange but I find this to be a way better product
