Excellent remote
Excellent remote. Buttons are large, backlit, and easily identifiable - most single DIN car stereos seem to be lacking in one or more of those areas, and that includes the KMR-M332BT stereo i recently installed in my truck, which also has the additional downside of being located at the bottom of my truck's center console, right in front of the shifter. Having this installed on my dash, right behind the steering wheel makes it much easier, quicker, and safer to control the stereo. Having to wire everything is a bit more work than using the proprietary cables that come with some other remotes, and definitely more than with a wireless remote, but install is still quite easy, and can be done with a roll of off the shelf wire and some butt splices. Overall, works great and does what I need.

Must have item for radios tucked away on boats
Bought this to go along with the head unit we put in our Sea Ray. Should have gotten it when I got the radio. IMHO, if you have your radio in the glove box on the port side like I do. YOU NEED TO HAVE A REMOTE mounted close to the helm to control volume and other common functions. Its a safety thing!!! How do I know? Well, when your cruising along at nearly 40 MPH with 2-3 foot waves and you want to raise the volume up a bit you try and keep one hand on the wheel and use the other to open the glove box, find the stupid volume knob, turn it clockwise, hit a wave. (Opps not THAT much too loud now), turn counterclockwise back down, CRAP back at the original volume. Ok there you go..just right...now close the glovebox again, hit another wave and bang your head on the windshield. OUCH. It functions well, easy to install and if you hook up the illumination wire the whole thing glows nice at night which is a nice touch. Not just the buttons but there is a cool glowing ring around the whole thing. Some of the buttons do need a firm press and sometimes there seems to be a slight delay from when you press a command and the radio responds but I suppose it has something to do with the command protocol all being sent over a single wire to the head unit. Like I said..if the radio in your boat is tucked away do yourself a favor and get this, mount it someplace where the DRIVER can reach it safely and enjoy the water :)

Good
It's cool and functions great. Only 2 gripes: 1) Does not come with the wire needed to install. It only comes with about 12 inches of cable. 2) The "source" button will scroll through the sources, until you get to "standby". Once you hit that, you have to go up to the deck to get it out of standby.

Works a treat! Better than the last generation remote
These remote controls arrived in a timely manner, and they work great with any current unit that utilizes Kenwood's remote control protocol (Kenwood Excelon automotive units, Kenwood marine units, etc.) via the one-wire REMOTE connection to the head unit. The back-lit illumination appears to be a white LED which causes the words and symbols on the buttons to glow nicely for night time viewing. This back light is controlled via the "ILLUMINATION" connection, which in my case is simply tied to the power lead for the unit for those night time swims without navigation lights turned on. I'm not concerned about the longevity of the back light with LED illumination. Others have stated that it will turn off their head unit. This appears to be a feature of the head unit, rather than the actual remote, as it will not turn off the DDX790 that I paired these remotes with on my boat. This makes sense actually, since the remote is simply going to send commands to the head unit, and it is up to the head unit to interpret them accordingly; different head units will treat the function differently, depending on design. It will, of course put the DDX790 into "STANDBY" mode though, since STANDBY is a source that one scrolls to by using the "SRC" button, along with all the other sources (video 1 & 2, tuner, Pandora, etc). It is easy to mount, and is attractive on the helm as well as the transom where I have them mounted. It is much more stylish and functional than the previous older Kenwood marine remotes that I have used (KCA-RC60MR).

Works great!
Works great in my 21' Ultra 210RS, with the head unit on the passenger side, I wanted to be able to control volume, mute, change songs, etc from the drivers side. It's wired up to my Kenwood KMR-M332BT. Install was super easy, with no problems, read your head unit manual to pair with the remote and you're in full control. I had to run one 16ga wire from the remote, to the stern, then back up to the head unit, the other wires just went to the dash panel close to the remote.

I love this remote
I love this remote! I purchased this to go with my new Kenwood KMR-358 stereo. It was super easy to install and has been great and easy to use. I was replacing an older JBL deck and remote on my boat. When I purchased the new deck, my requirement was that it had another transom remote. It was super easy to install as I cut the old wiring harness off the JBL and wired up the Kenwood to it, took about 1 beverages time.

Works as expected
My RC50MR Kenwood remote stopped working and would either go volume down to zero, or up to ear drum pain. This remote was a good replacement. while the dimensions of this remote were slightly larger than the original, I did not need to do additional drilling and it covered existing hole perfectly. Wiring was the same 4 wires (Power, Ground, illumination, and Connection to unit). There was 1 wire that was a different color from original unit, but easy to figure out. the unit looks good, and is connected to my panel rocker, so that illumination operates by the panel switch. Operation is less than perfect, it appears the buttons do not recognize every push, so I push multiple times to increase/decrease volume and stop when volume is at desired level. The other buttons seem to work, but its difficult to see what they do without a display. I use this 99% for volume alone and am happy with the results which are similar to the unit it replaced.

Use it to control our Kenwood remotely
We love being able to adjust the volume and change the channel from our cockpit (the stereo is mounted inside our sailboat). Easy installation. Works great.

Available on Amazon which was so great as we couldn’t find this in the store . We thought we couldn’t find this for our boat and Amazon had it. Easy to install. It was a little smaller than our original one but worked fine and price was right . Arrived really quickly

Product is good. It does what it says. Installation is simple. Josh at JBS power center is awesome. I ended up breaking the mounting plate which was my own fault and Josh went out his way to allow me to return the one I had and get a new one, something he didnt have to do. He stayed in touch with me and made sure I was happy. Kudo's for that Josh. Good job!

I had a 2” diameter hole in my dash to cover and the supplied hardware worked perfectly

EDIT: Kenwood took the product back under warranty and replaced it. Works great now! I installed this product as per the instructions on my Kenwood KMR-M328BT. Unfortunately, it only works when it wants to. When it does work, it doesn’t work well. When you press the volume down button, It goes all the way down to zero. When you press the volume up button, It goes to full volume. On occasion, it will work properly… But that is rare. Sadly, I purchased it last year and didn’t have time to install it… So I can’t return it. I do not recommend this product!
