Not terribly thick. They are the same thickness as a regular business envelope so they are a bit sheer. You would probably be able to see a check through it if you wanted to. Be careful what you mail or add a liner sheet. That being said, I will order more. The size, color, and price make this a definite go to for a non-white but still light-enough-for-any-ink envelope.

For general correspondence and even personal letters, I DID NOT want drab white #10 business envelopes, nor did I want to spend money on premium stationery. Here is my solution; powder blue #9s -- which will accommodate a regular 8-1/2 x 11 sheet, but also a personal note, and its color makes it stand out in a pile of impersonal mail AND inexpensive to buy in quantity. Am very happy with these first quality envelopes. A+

We use these colored # 9 envelopes for HOA amendment ballots. They color coordinate with a very similar color blue paper (for the ballot) available from most office supply retailers. The # 9 envelope fits easily into the larger # 10 (standard business size) return envelope. We've used these two years in a row and they are perfect for our needs.

I liked the quality and the color of the envelopee. I don’t think it is quite business size. I do a lot of letter writing and I usually use the white standard size business envelopes that take standard size stationary. I could also enclose a standard size tract or brochure with it. I could not do that with these envelopes and that was a little disappointing.since I did enjoy the color and quality of the paper.

While I was willing to pay this much for the right blue envelopes, I feel like these are a little bit pricey. They are very good quality, however.
