This is beautifully made. The seat is pretty and has been varnished so that is very smooth and stays clean. This was a replacement for an original one that was exactly the same, installed 12 years ago. The contractor never caulked around it so the screws into the wall corroded and the seat had to be broken off from the wall to be replaced. This replacement fit the set up exactly the same as the original. But this one is actually made better than the last one. This is one case or a product was actually improved rather than dummy down.

After we chose this bench based on the amazon reviews we had our contractor install it in our newly renovated bathroom he was working on. Our contractor has since RAVED about this seat!! I’ve been in touch with him and he said he’s recommended this bench to lots of his bathroom clients since installing ours. It looks beautiful in our new bathroom! I use it to sit on and relax, for shaving my legs — and bonus — my kids ages 7, 6 and 4 LOOOOOVE going in mommy and daddy’s shower to sit on the bench. We installed a retractable shower head next to the permanent one and sitting on the bench holding the water against my back is heaven. I highly recommend this bench!! By the way I’m 120 pounds and feel completely secure sitting on this bench. Our contractor added reinforcements behind the wall before putting up the hardy board and tiling. Even with the reinforcements I doubt a heavy person would feel comfortable on this bench. The ad states up to 330 pounds but I sincerely doubt someone that size would feel safe sitting in this bench.
