Excellent shoes!
The best shoe I have ever worn, I am a service rep for a window company in Michigan and I’m on my feet all day in all kinds of weather conditions and these definitely hold up and they are worth every penny!

Comfortable all day boots
Light and comfortable. Paired them with wool socks and had no trouble hiking and traveling through France, Scotland and Ireland.

so far so good
It's pretty new to me/ I only have about 80 miles on this boot so far. It's light enough. It's gore tex lined so it's both water proof and a little less cool/breathable than I like. I do like the arch support The ankle support is good for me.The toe box is just big enough. I don't like the insole that came with it, but my instep is high enough that a a thicker cushion wont fit with my foot .. My only real complaint is the laces are slippery enough that it is difficult to tie I will amend this after 250 miles or so..

Best Boot on the Market!!!
AMAZING. I have used these boots through all elements and terrains and they have not failed me nor gotten a hole. They have great traction and durability! The price is a bargain with how good they perform! They also provide good ankle support if you tie them correctly.

Toe Box Too Narrow
I love these boots! I hate these boots! My Salomon Men's X Ultra 4 are light weight, supportive, waterproof (eh, let's call them water resistant), and have great tread design. What's not to like? Well, they caused the toenail of my left big toe to fall off, for one! You see, although they are comfortable, the toe box is too narrow. I usually wear a men's US size 9 E. I read on Amazon that they tend to be a little narrow, so I ordered the size 9.5 Wide. I wore them around the house for a couple of days when they arrived, and, except for snugness around my big toes, they seemed to fit fine (they'll break in, right?). They also were comfortable hiking uphill. However, I found that a considerable amount of weight was directed to my big toes when hiking downhill. When I got home, I noted substantial bruising to my left big toe that soon turned my nail black. It looked worse than it felt, but the nail fell off about a month later. I still wear the boots when the terrain isn't hilly. But, these Salomon's aren't the all terrain boots that I thought I was buying.

Best hiking boots I’ve tried
So far I’ve been highly impressed with these boots. I was worried they might be to narrow not having wide option available. They aren’t to narrow for my feet but everyone is different. What I love is how light these are and they are water proof also. I’ve stepped into creeks and puddles enough to go to my ankles and didn’t get my feet wet. Have around 10 miles on them and they aren’t showing signs of early wear.
