Q: Can you use an ordinary light switch to turn off and on and adjust colors?

You have to use a normal wall switch to turn on/off. Turning off and on with a short interval will change colors (kelvin). If you want to use the remote control to turn on/off, the wall switch has to be always on. My experience with a dimmer switch failed, the light would blink. Use a normal switch and then dim with the remote. This light is GREAT!!!

Q: Do i need to buy replacement parts together when purchasing the led ceiling lights. are the replacemen parts easily available internationally?

I bought three of these and never needed any replacement parts.
