Oil pencils that really lay down color
I was surprised that pencils for this price could lay down color with ease. Usually at this price range of $69 the colors are washed out, not these pencils. One stroke is amazing with the color that is transfered. They are not as hard as Polychromos but not Prismacolor soft either. I found it similar in hardness to Caran d'ache Pablos which are currently my favorite pencil. I plan to do alot of coloring with these pencils. This is my initial take with it using about ten different colors which ususally you get a good idea of what you will experience after years of practice.

The Best of the "Budget" Colored Pencils!
Of the many less expensive colored pencils, the Nyoni line is top grade. I tested these in relation to Polychromos, Holbein (very much alike) and Mitsubishi UNI colored pencils that are all professional grade and the Nyoni compete very well. Nyoni pencils are very well made, smooth & blending very well and a super color line that includes pastels and subdued colors. The metal box is elegant that houses these beautiful colored pencils. One feels that the designer was conscious on how to make a professional presentation of these pencils so that artists would be impressed!

Good pencils, rough shipment.
- Pros: I love these pencils. To compare to a few popular brands - these handle like a Prismacolor but are formulated like polychromos. The colors blend and layer beautifully. The white actually layers over dark colors - amazing! I’ve had an easier time using these as opposed to my Prismacolor, and Derwent sets which if you’re not careful create waxy blooms and breaks due to the soft core. I love the price point. They’re not terribly expensive so I feel better using them up. They don’t feel as precious, as more expensive supplies give me the anxiety of not wanting to “waste” them.- Cons: Three arrived with broken tips. Not a huge deal but could be avoided with a little bubble wrap in the tin. It seems to be a known problem. They break like Prismacolor. I don’t know why people are more forgiving of this fact with a much more expensive brand but if it’s going to happen I’d rather not pay luxury prices and these pencils usually have a discount. I’ve read on Prismacolor threads that if you pop them under a heating pad for a few moments then let them cool they’ll resolidify.I will keep buying these, for sure, just maybe not from this seller. They are white labeled under the brands “kalour” and “brutfuner” with the same solid colored body (not the black barrels with the color dipped ends. Those are a different manufacturer.) So it just depends on who is selling them cheaper that day. My kalours don’t break half as often so I suspect these nyoni’s do show up with broken lead on the inside from rough shipments.4 stars because the pigment really is there, I subtracted one star due to breakage from shipping.Hope this helps.

Oil based pencils
I LOVE my new pencils! So much I plan on buying the larger count on payday. I got the smaller amount to see if I like them. They are perfect for blending!

My preferred colored pencils
Pigment, blending, etc. have already been discussed as outstanding reasons these are a real value. The color palette is exceptional, and I've already set up favored pencil trios (or more than 3) that work beautifully together. They sharpen well, hold a point, and do not break easily or crumble. Have even planned to purchase a backup set, but wish Amazon would put them on sale!

Grand daughter loves them.
I bought these for a gift and she is very happy with them. Showed me how well they can be blended and the lay down and I am glad they please her.

almost the same as brutfuners up to #70.
These were recommended in a you tube video. They work fine but they're hard to sharpen with just anything. I'm using the kom sharpener. Some have broken when sharpening. As these are higher priced "budget pencils" I'm a little disappointed. I use them, though with Brutfuner macarons when I need a very light shade. They match the Brutfuner square pencils basically until the #60's- 72 for color and number! There is no where on utube have I ever heard this pointed out. NIce set of browns.
