Great Bowl for Speedy Scarfers
We have a 6 or 7 year old rescued Catahoula dog (M) and a 16 year old rescued Black Lab (F.)The female Lab paces herself well while she eats. Our Catahoula dog eats so quickly, if not physically stopped, he would eat a 2 cup meal of moistened dry food in around 18 seconds. (We've timed it.)We aren't sure how it happened but the Catahoula dog got deathly ill with pancreatitis, gastroenteritis and dehydration and unusual blood work readings. He nearly died and spent days in a vetinary hospital, on an IV, on meds, NPO, supportive care and it scared our family because about 15 years ago we lost a beloved Malamute to pancreatitis with similar symptoms. (Think a terrible gastro illness, with blood coming out both ends, lethargy, dehydration and not sleeping. We got him to the vet before he collapsed.)When our Catahoula looked like he was going to survive with great vetinary care (thank G*d) I decided that, along with all the meds and directions for frequent, small meals, one of these bowls might help, too. Our vet agreed. She said, although fast eating didn't cause his recent condition, the Slow Feed bowl would certainly help with his convalescence. He's been home several days now and the bowl has slowed his eating 1/2 cup of chicken and rice (home made) to 4-5 minutes. He systematically works his way around the bowl, eating slowly because he has to find and eat every morsel and we do feel it's helping his recovery. We will definitely continue to use this bowl after his convalescence is complete. The funniest part (aside from the look on his face when we first put this bowl down on the floor) is that our slower eating Black Lab is now pacing around the kitchen, waiting for him to finish so they can go ouside-potty. She used to finish last and determine when they were taken out after meals.I feel it is important to clean this bowl as soon as your dog is done eating so food doesn't build up on the edges and nooks of the bowl. I spray ours with watered dishwsdhing liquid in a spray bottle, let it sit a minute, then rinse a number of times until the water runs clear. We are very happy with this bowl. It is helping our little boy recover from a serious illness and benefitting his health. (It's also kind of funny and entertaining to watch him eat out of this spiral of a bowl.)I hope your dog doesn't need to face a serious disease, like our Catahoula dog did before you try this innovative design in safer animal feeding.I wish we had bought one sooner.

The dog likes it, but the non slip plastic "feet" are a choking / swallowing hazard.
This little plastic thing has 5 rubber "feet" and I just discovered my dog was biting them off (they come off very easily) and eating them. Terrible!! We just ripped the rest of the feet off, but really, this is not okay for a pet toy.

Narrow and challenging for large dog
My pit Bull scarfs her food down and then tries to sneak food from our slow eater pup. This feeder slows her down ok but is too narrow for her mouth, so eating all her kibble is a challenge and I usually have to flip the bowl for her last bites. Would probably be great for a smaller dog?I’ll probably invest in a new bowl with less grooves eventually to accommodate my dog better, but this one is alright for now.

Great bowl
My pitbull Catahoula mix used to scarf his food down in less than a minute. With this bowl, it takes him 7 mins to finish each meal which means less hiccups and barf

Best feeder for my dogs
I love these slow feeders. One of my dogs would eat so fast then get sick afterwards. Since she has to take her time to get the food she doesn’t get sick anymore.

Slows down our very fast eater
We have a chocolate lab who inhales her food. This dish has really slowed her down. Good quality.

Not bad for the price
I have a 55lb pit mix puppy and this slows him down a little but honestly not as much as I was expecting
