clean lines....Works well !
I usually use masking tape, but I was looking for a narrower tape to use in a sketch book. This was on Hahnemuhla postcard paper (a bit light really ) I used a heavy wet wash and it worked really well. Picked up cleanley and didnt tear the paper. Obviously go easy when you take it off, but it leaves a clean crisp edge. I was impressed....it actually works ! ...and Ive used a few over the years that havent, which is why I went to all this effort to show you the results and spread the word !

Very Sticky
Good value for money. Definitely needs to be pre-treated on a piece of cloth if using to mask a straight edge on water colour paper. Would be even better if slightly coloured to enable the edge to be seen.

Protects against paint seepage, but almost impossible to remove without tearing the paper
This is in most respects near-identical to the masking tape used for crafts and model making but is not so good when used to hold down/mask watercolour paper. The tape certainly prevents leakage or seepage onto the area of paper covered by the tape, which it’s designed to do. The problem is that it’s then almost impossible to remove without tearing the paper, no matter how much care you exercise. The supplier claims that it is ‘Easy Peeling: Just pull the tape slowly and gently and let it release from the surface gradually at a 90 degree angle between the tape and the direction that you are pulling outward, it won’t make any damage to your art work’. Maybe my technique is poor, but it doesn’t work for me.It might work better on canvas, which I never use; the canvas is a lot tougher and will not tear so easily. But I couldn’t recommend it for artists’ paper of any grade.
