Q: I am looking for a good heavy bottom pan for making Carmel? Has anyone tried that using this pan?

I have not made Carmel. I would consider it has a heavy bottom. It cleans up easy if soaked. I use it mostly to cook steel oats.

Q: Can this be used in the oven with the lid on? I would like to use it to roast garlic.

The base that contacts the element or burner is 4 and 3/4 inches. The pot itself is about 5 and 1/2 inches

The measurements are in liters only. There are lines for 0.5, 1.0, 1.5L
