Excellent cat food — very high quality, and my cats love it. It is a bit on the expensive side, but the ingredients and results make it worth the cost. No issues so far, and the cats seem happy and healthy with it.

The quality of the cat food that I purchase became of great importance to me after I lost my first cat to a disease that my vet said was triggered by, and worsened by, the cat food I was feeding him (Fancy Feast). So I begin doing research on what cats really need in their diet and the backgrounds and production of various cat foods on the market. Of everything I found, this brand “Orijen” always seemed to make the top five list of healthiest and most nutritious cat foods made with the highest quality ingredients as well as the best sourcing and production practices. Admittedly, there was another brand that was above ‘Orijen’ in these categories that I wanted to give my cats...but cats are picky, and they did not care for that brand too much...so I went to my second choice, which was ‘Orijen’. Ever since trying Orijen’s ‘Cat & Kitten’, we have never found another “go-to” food for the cats. They truly love this stuff. And as you can see in the video, I once got a bag home and (even though they had eaten that morning) they were more than happy to tear the bag open before I could even get to it. (usually I keep the cat food stored away in a cupboard). If you’re looking for a fragrant, dry food to attract your cats’ attention, this is definitely a go-to. Even with my human nose, as soon as I open the bag I can smell a powerful scent of cat food; it’s not an unpleasant smell, but it is certainly strong enough that a cat will know that the food is there. As my cats’ responsible human, I am happy with this food because it is responsibly sourced with cat’s health and humane practices in mind. More specifically, it is made of 85% animal ingredients including free-run chicken/turkey, wild-caught herring/flounder/sardines, and cage-free eggs; and 2/3 of their animal ingredients are “fresh or raw”. I am also encouraged by the fact that the first 16 ingredients listed on the bag are all whole animal sources; no fillers, supplements, fruits, veggies, or mysterious compounds. Additionally, taurine, which you must be wary of in cat food since it can be found in high quantities (particularly in low quality, high protein) cat food and cause health disorders in your pet, is found as a respectably small percentage of this food. I only wish that Orijen made wet cat food, since making sure cats get enough water is a very important thing. I did try to put some water on their dry food, but they didn’t like that. My answer to that was to buy a motion sensitive water dispenser, and buy them canned cat food on occasion from another respectable brand. With regard to price, yes it is rather expensive for a cat food. And getting used to it did take some time. However, after being told that I lost my first cat because of the low quality of the cat food I was feeding him (and I had no idea!), the peace of mind I get now from knowing that I am feeding my cats a properly nutritious food is priceless. Overall I am very happy with the brand and this flavor, and as you can see in the video and the picture of the damage done to the bag before I could open it and the cats are also very happy with it. We have a Maine Coon kitten that was started off with raw food. After a month or so she quit eating it so I reached out to her breaded and she suggested Orijen as a good substitute. I had tried one of the other two main brands recommended by veterinarians and one of them turns out to be owned by a pharmaceutical company. So I ditched that and started this Orijen for kittens. I have since bought Orijen for my two cats, they aren’t as excited about the kibble for weight control. I am working towards getting them all close to the same diet, making it easier on all of us. My Maine coon kitten loves this kibble. The quality of this food and the ingredients are incredible and she loves the taste. One of my cats tries to eat the kittens kibble so it must taste good. It’s appearance is different in color and size, it doesn’t seem to have whatever it is that smells so strong that the cats run to it, they eat it because they like it, ok and maybe out of necessity. I would recommend Orijen because of the ingredients, protein is key, and it doesn’t have a lot of fillers.

This food is AMAZING! My 3cats took to it instantly. I mixed it with the current food they had been eating for several years in one bowl and straight in one bowl. They all preferred this food hands down! I had tried to switch them to another food earlier and they rejected it completely. I have been researching cat food for the last month trying to find the best one. This brand showed up in the top several. This one stood out having the nutrition levels I desired by using real meat products. The others had equal nutritional levels but they were synthetic additives. It is more expensive by far but if my cats like it better and it has the results advertised I am willing to forgo other items in my budget to purchase this food! I advise anyone wanting to switch food for nutritional or digestive reasons to do their research but consider comparing them to this brand. It has a slightly stronger odor but not unpleasant. Smells richer. The bag can be sealed easily for storage. My only problem is how to get rid of the large amount of my old brand. They refuse it if the other is available and pick around it if mixed. I think a shelter donation is in my future!

I bought this Orijen cat food for my cat because I wanted something clean and safe- many low quality cat foods contain preservatives that can be harmful, even carcinogenic. I like that this brand uses natural preservatives and the ingredient list is very clean. However, my cat doesn’t seem to enjoy the taste and refuses to eat much of it. Out of curiosity, I even tried a piece myself, and I think the issue is that it lacks that strong aroma or flavor that cats usually crave. In the end, I found that mixing it with anther cat food works better- my cat is willing to eat it this way. Overall, I still trust the quality and safety of this food, but it may not be the best choice for picky eaters.

Top shelf food. This is a high quality food.and tasty enough for finicky felines. It is pricey, however worth every kibble. I can recommend this product enthusiastically,

Since I started feeding my Siamese cats Orijen, they have been in perfect health. Usually, around 7-8 years the Siamese cats have been known to develop Kidney Disease. It only happened before when I used other special Doctors formulas. I will never do that again. Orijen keeps my cats healthy. I will never use another brand. Thank you Orijen for having special sales. It is excellent quality and it helps with this economy.
