I enjoy reading this book and love these stories. Love learning the western states coming to life. I have ancestors who came over and settled in Midwest

I chose the five star rating due to how well the pot came together. The grammar, punctuation and sentence structure were almost perfect. As a retired educator those things are important to me. When I read, errors distract me from the story. I'm a romance junkie thus, I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a clean and easy v read.

I loved this story, it was so different from the same old tired mail bride stories. Karla has placed looking inside a persons motives and searching for the truth of each person’s motives in their actions. The reader learns how difficult it was for many soldiers of the time to follow orders that were unnecessary and damaging to innocent people. My husband was a Vietnam vet and still harbors nightmares of orders that, if nor followed, would get them sent to military prison. This story was well crafted and all of the people were well developed.

If you like colorful locations and engaging characters this is a book is for you. Recommend it to those who like Mail Order bride romantic novels. Historical times and places will whisk you from the rush and stress of today's life.

This was another great read by Karla Gracey. The stubbornness of Claire but also the determination that money doesn't bring happiness. Clara is a spunky, and determined woman to find her own path in life. Nate is a sheriff in Eagle Creek who has his own past demons but signed up for a matrimonial newspaper ad. The two are brought together by a " dare. " The rest is a troubling friend from Nate's past who shows up in Eagle Creek. All 3 of their lives will intertwine in the midst of the searching for love and happiness.

This is a different book than most , it gives more to the character than just a simple personality, they have personality of their own and it makes the story flow.

Brilliant story, could not put it down. This is the second book by this author that I have bought and I would recommend the author and the story.

This is an interesting book looking at women’s options over a century ago. It also touches on decisions made that harmed many and the consequences. Of course it’s a delightful romance.

This story is amazing in how it confronts with deep ethical issues. It is a good read, with some good action and circumstances taking place. The characters are well portrayed and the issues pertinent. Makes you think " what would I do?!" Absolutely loved the outcome for Clara. Truly brilliant. Wanted to read on and see how well she does from here on in. An impactful read.

Terrific story. Couldn't put it down. Felt quite let down when it ended. The character of Clara was very well portrayed, and she was very real & relateable. Nate was just a darling. Thank you Karla for another enjoyable story
