Does the bottom get easily scratched, seeing as there's no molding of any kind?

Not easily no. Entire bag is made of heavy duty canvas comparable to that used in luggage/duffel bags. Mine secures +/- 20 lbs of my MTB emergency tools n gear and it’s served me well.

Will a welding helmet fit

I carry hand tools in mine. It’s as long as my stanley flatbar, and is wearing well. I use it every day. It will hold your impact, drill and charger. If that’s good enough buy it. I will buy another when this one quits

What is the wieght capacity? Is it documented?

Not sure but you will have a hard time breaking this bag... Very strong and well made... Mine weighs about 25 pounds with various gear no issues whatsoever
