4 stars for packaging woes... Pros: Sticks REALLY well, to any surface it seems. Hest resistance seems to perform as advertises. It is easily on par with automotive compounds in terms of gripping power and is highly resistant to a variety of common solvents... this is a double-edged sword because... Cons: Tube is not crimped at bottom, Nozzle fits loose, they dropped the ball hard on packaging. If you squeeze too hard while working with smaller bead sizes ( sub 5mm) you're probably going to get a whole bunch of the compound spilling out of both ends. Prep work is absolutely essential to getting the most out of this product. HVAC and Painters tape will be your best friend, if only for the fact that it is very difficult to scrape off once it has been cured. I have more than enough experience with food grade RTV compounds, but this particular one leaves little room for error.

Used to seal my side box on my bbq, worked great.

My application was to install a fan on a smoker. I had a fairly large jagged edge around a connector that didn't quite fit right. I applied a thick bead of this and it sealed up, no problem. I then sealed some small smoke leak paths here and there on the smoker body/lid and was able to achieve a very tight seal. As to other reviewers complaining about the tip dispenser being too small, and bursting the tube while squeezing, you just need to cut the tube tip so as to get enough output diameter. Really???

This stuff worked great to fill a small gap along the edge of my portable grill. Now there is no more grease running down the legs and on to the table. It was easy to apply and adhered to the stainless steel with no prep work involved. Let it set for 24 hours to cure and fired up the grill. According to the on board thermometer, we got it to just over 700 degrees and this stuff didn’t become soft or peel away. Just wish they sold a smaller tube as the standard tube was way to much product for what I needed it for.

Love love love lavalock RTV. works great, keeps all my smoker gaskets in place. hardly any off gassing and great adhesion if used properly. My complaint is the tube and tip combo this tuff comes in. Order it twice, first time the bottom splits open at the crimp and RTV comes pouring out while I'm trying to apply it. Fine I get it, stuff happens. Second tube for a new smoker. Tip fits so poorly on the tube that when you squeeze the RTV out tip unscrews, pouring RTV out the tip and the bottom of the tip that has just come unscrewed.

Works like it's supposed to, does a great job... Just a right bastard to get out the tube..

Bought this to fix a kamado deflector plate that was broken. Used a thin bead and placed it back together. Held super strong and more than withstands high temperatures. Will buy again if I need it. Works great on anything food related. I fixed my Cuisinart coffee percolator bulb that broke off with it. Great to have on hand for all your high heat food related needs

Even though I only needed a small amount, it completed the repair of the gasket replacement on our Kamato Joe BBQ.

Ok so I used this to seal the smoke box and any other smoke letting orifice on my Oklahoma Joe. I got this as it’s the only RTV out there that says good grade. It works however there are some buts… 1. The tube is horrible. Too old skool and no longer cool! You really have to squeeze the end of the tube to get anything out, and with the pressure your applying you get the shakes at times which means applying evenly is difficult. I did not however have the issue with the tube splitting as some have mentioned. Mainly because I didn’t attempt to roll it up at the end and just squeezed progressively up the tube from the bottom. I’d prefer a cartridge for my silicone gun even if that did mean I had a ton over - always handy right?? 2. The smoker itself can be varying in gap and because of above you have to add a lot in certain areas. Again a small bead in some places you don’t find out is enough until you mate the two parts together and at that point it’s a remove and apply more which can lead to a messy situation when your placing two heavy parts together and you inevitably put your hand in it. So wear gloves. Again here a tube for your silicone gun would be best as you can squeeze out more than you need and clean excess off. 3. The price - it’s horrendous as is most of the lavalock items as they are US based. Other than that it’s done the job with some over. That’s 2 halves of the smoke box together with the smoke box as it attaches to the main body of the smoker too.
