A Dark, super enjoyable, Unputdownable TMNT Story
Fantastic graphic novel. As soon as I opened it, I ended up reading the entire thing in one sitting, the story is great. The artwork is incredible throughout, with beautifully detailed panels that really bring the darker, grittier tone to life. The hardback edition is excellent quality as well. It feels solid, well-made, and definitely like something worth keeping on the shelf. If you’re a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan and you’re looking for a more mature, emotional, and darker storyline, you’ll absolutely love this. I certainly did.

Hardcover and hard-core
I love everything about this book. The hardcover, embossed picture at the front, the story, the different artworks all used at the right time and the action. I have been a Turtles fan since they were released as the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles I'm the UK. I have not like every incarnation of them (the Nickelodeon versions I did not like). I loved the bigger badder more Ninja version of them. I was slightly dissapointed in City at War, when I saw this advertised I though it looked cool but I was dubious. Does this deliver yes it does!!! The war between the Oroku/Foot and Hamato Clans has spanned generations. Now the last surviving member of the Hamato family had come gor revenge on the lady Oroku and his army. It has been 16 years since the Hamato's were decimated. Making the last survivor a Ronin. What happened to his family? Where has he been? Can he do it alone? On a personal not this has always been my faverite Turtle, so I was extra glad he got the spotlight. Though the others also have their moments in the flashbacks. This is has become my all time faverite Turtles story. There are different artists and artwork on display for different parts of the story and they are blended together perfectly. The book starts the a great introduction by Robert Rodriguez, finishes with an awesome afterwards original creater Kevin Eastman, and a full page cover gallery with varient covers. Which era of TMNT fan you are this is must have. I think every character was done justice. I am a happy fan.

Having never read a Ninja Turtle, only ever watching the cartoon like most kids, i had heard great things about The Last Ronin. With a movie and a game comign out it was time to read it and I was not dissapointed. Darker than you would be used to with the cartoon and plenty of blood, it tells en emotional story that might mean a little more to those who have read the comics but it still worked on me, recommended whether you like the comics or not.

It's freakin' fantastic, the story stabs your nostalgia in the heart with this tale about the final Ninja turtle. I couldn't help but consume the entire thing in one sitting, I may have been permanently banned from that café, but every scrumptious page was worth it. 10/10 art, 10/10 callbacks, 10/10 new characters, the print job is great though the inner papers are a bit glossier than I'd hope, and a breakup between artstyles in story flashbacks that gives the brain ample breaks between layout sequences to digest the narrative comfortably.

I've got to say, as an avid comic book reader that was hooked primarly on DC and Marvel, The Last Ronin is one of the best graphic novels that I have read in a while. Unlike most comic book stories which are just predictable, convoluted and sometimes downright dumb, The Last Ronin is a pretty straightforward, emotional rollecoaster that will make any true TMNT fan cry, even a grown man as myself, with intense action and awesome character development that would make any modern Marvel writer jealous of, this is truly a one of a kind event made for long time TMNT fans that have grown up with this property in any shape or form. I recommend it a 100% for its price, just remember to bring a box of tissues for your tears. :)

I read through this on the very same day it arrived (which if I may add, was on time to the estimated delivery). While some may argue that this is a very dark and depressing comic for the TMNT franchise, which I can't argue with really... I believe the story was very well executed, and this is something I would LOVE to see more of when it comes to the franchise. Acknowledging that being a "hero" isn't as easy or painless as it seems is very important to me in comics and stories like these. The protagonist CAN and WILL get hurt throughout the fights and battles, mentally AND physically. Change happens. Life and death happens. You can't save everyone, you're going to feel pain and regret over the things you witness, maybe even cause. This story told that side incredibly well, and it's definitely something I can appreciate. At times, it did make me want to skim through the text and pages as I felt it went a little slow, but perhaps that was mostly due to my impatience to see what would happen next. Nevertheless, that won't lower my rating on this, because the comic as a whole was way too good for me to rate it any less. It was delivered in one cardboard package, which made me concerned it would arrive in bad shape, but I was happy to see that I received the book in excellent condition. The hardcover design and art looks incredible as well. Yes, I cried going through the last few pages, and I feel no shame over that. This was extremely well done, and you can tell heart and passion was put into it. That is something that deserves my bursting emotions. Genuinely tempted to do an actual video review/essay on this book, because typing this out has made me realize how much I truly have to say about this comic. TLDR: I absolutely recommend giving this comic a read, especially if you're a TMNT fan. HOWEVER, if you're a young fan of the franchise (as I've noticed many nowadays are), or simply not into angsty and emotion-heavy stories, you may want to skip reading this.

Leitura fantástica. Bem como a arte. Uma história envolvente que nos prende do inicio ao fim. Uma história sobre vingança, honra e destino. Vale a leitura, com toda certeza!
