Durable, quality product that gets the job done!

So far I am happy with this product. I got tired of using the sponge with it coming to pieces, the pieces in my hair and having to wash it. I first saw this when my barber started using this on my hair. I didn't see results as my hair was still a bit dry, even though she sprayed with I think a moisturizer. I was anxious to use this once I purchased the version for short hair. I washed and conditioned my hair, added leave-in conditioner and some eco-styler gel and went to work. Already within seconds my hair started forming twists. Quicker and better then the sponge. AND easy to clean!!!! My hair is very kinky so it holds for a bit. I just spray my hair with leave-in conditioner mixed in water and just gently re-twist. I don't have to add more gel.

4 Stars Solid! This is definitely not the Sponge, and you won't get the same definition and results, but this is a solid alternative. I purchased the small brush-size version at the same time as the sponge. The sponge worked great, so I used that most of the time, UNTIL I started noticing little piece were breaking off in my hair. That's when I decided to switch and commit to this product. Again, not as good as the sponge, but good enough without the shedding. And because of the small form factor, I can pack it for travel like a palm hair brush. Highly recommend.

I use this for my son and have tried regular sponge brushes before. While they create a nice twist pattern, they get dirty quickly, can’t be cleaned, and absorb oil and moisture from the hair. You could buy cheap sponge brushes (3-4 for $10) and replace them often, but that still doesn’t fix the oil absorption issue. The Twist It Up Comb is a great alternative—hygienic, durable, and effective. However, getting the right twist depends on factors like dampness, product use, and hair texture, and at $20+, it’s pricey. This Bow Wow X Twist King brush is the perfect middle ground. At around $10-$12, it’s: ✔ Washable for better hygiene ✔ Non-absorbent, so it doesn’t strip hair oils ✔ Great at grabbing hair for twists, even with product (I use Carol’s Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Shine Pomade + Aunt Jackie’s Kids Baby Curls Custard) ✔ Has a slight weight that helps apply gentle, even pressure for deeper twists (just don’t press too hard on kids!) Don’t spend another dollar on another curl sponge ever again! Yes, many curl sponges get the job done, but not like this thing right here. This thing is amazing. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and it has not let me down at all. Let me tell you how I came across this product. I realized I needed a new curl sponge and went to look for ones I’ve previously purchased. As I was searching, I came across this twist curl brush by RED. Reviews were good and so I gave it a shot and it has not disappointed. The biggest difference is material. It’s like a heavy duty rubber type material. It durability allows you to wash it and I can tell it won’t break down over time. Another reason I swear by this product is my hair starts to twist like immediately when I start to use it, regardless of if I have just gotten out of the shower and my hair is wet, or when I wake up in the morning and my hair is dry - don’t even need to apply any product. With my other curl sponges, my hair had to be almost dry, if not completely dry, before my hair would begin to twist. If my hair was completely dry, I had to make sure I applied curl moisturizer or it wouldn’t work hardly at all. So, if you are looking for a new curl sponge, or even better, an alternative to a curl sponge, definitely try this out. It’s not sponge material at all and works so good…
