iFi iPower2 - Low Noise DC Power Supply - Upgrade Your Audio/Video/Electronics [12V / 1.8A]

bang for bucks! i bought this unit to upgrade my Wiim Pro streamer. I use the wiim only as a transport(politely forget the built in DAC). the difference in quality after using this unit is NIGHT AND DAY. Period. If not, then sorry to say(and probably a lot of you wont like my opinion). but your system is not revealing enough. The main area where the difference is audible is the soundstage and separation. The soundstage is more defined and the mid but mainly the high frequency sounds and clearer and a lot more separated and easier to hear the subtle differences. I have been using my wiim streamer for almost two years, and my biggest mistake was that i have not bought this low noise PS earlier :( ... the difference what i hear triggered me to rethink the role of my streamer in my chain and probably will upgrade the streamer(by keeping this PS unit).

As I write this review I'm only half an hour into using the power supply and it's made a big difference. I've built a hifi system form older high quality component. Refurbished and improved them to make a very nice system. Quad 66 preamp, Quad 309 amplifier, Mission 773 speakers fed by a Wiim Pro plus and a Rega record deck. The Wiim always sounded bad in comparison to the vinyl. I've always bought good speaker cables so realised small things can make a big difference but have always been a bit sceptical about cables and accessories that claim to improve the sound especially when they involve a reasonable investment. However, purchasing high quality (expensive) cables to connect the components has made a big difference. So I thought it was worth a go at improving the Wiim with a power supply. I had tried it in many USB supplies. They do sound different but none sounded good. The difference the iPower supply has made to the Wiim Pro Plus is remarkable. Music is tight and controlled with a nice rounded bass. I'd thoroughly recommend it on high end components before you decide to try a more expensive streamer.

Bought this to run music on Beyerdynamic headphones streamed from a smartphone through a ifi zen dac. Sound quality is outstanding and the wall wart is worth every penny of the price. I'm not sure that I will ever use all the adapters it comes with, but who knows. A real high quality product.

Had a hum problem with sound system. Tracked it down to two wall-wart power supplies. The worst came with a £850 turntable, the other with a £200 multi-room adapter. Since wall-warts don't have ground pins, it was not a ground loop, just noisy power supplies injecting hum. Bought an iPower2 which cured the turntable one, bought another and cured the other. Shouldn't have needed to buy these expensive power supplies, but now I no longer have unwanted hum!

Though it may seem expensive for a device to connect the mains to whatever you intend to power it is well made and in my audio system makes a difference. It is powering a WIIM Pro Plus streamer and as others have said the improvement it brings is not subtle. For me lyrics being sung are more obvious; instruments low in the mix become more obvious and their positioning in the soundstage more focussed. If you are somebody who really enjoys listening to music intensely it is worth the money, if you like music for background ambience perhaps less so.

I have several pedals that dont like cheap switch mode power supplies where the switching noise comes through with the signal. Although this power supply may seem expensive, for how it performs, it's worth every penny! It is as noise free (electrical noise) as a high quality low noise linear power supply. The lead is also far better quality than the usua onesl. I tried powering ten various pedals simultaneously and it worked flawlessly. If you want noise free effects, thoroughly reccomend getting one.

Bought for a BT router. Didn't fit.

You would perhaps not think that a power supply would make a whole lot of difference to the sound of components, but it really does. I have two of these for a streamer and a DAC. They really do eliminate any hint of hiss or hum. I can crank my amp volume up to maximum and hear silence, like there's no device plugged in at all. When playing music, everything just sounds clearer and more defined. Seriously, a night and day difference over the cheap wall warts that are supplied with most devices.

Versand/Lieferung super schnell, gut verpackt, Gerät macht was es soll , ob es zu einer Verbesserung geführt hat, kann ich noch nicht sagen aufgrund der kurzen Nutzungszeit.

Calidad precio muy bien. Normalmente los Dac o aparatos que necesiten un transformador no dedican presupuesto en esto y si uno compra un dispositivo que cueste más de 4 veces este valor, por supuesto que merece la pena. Es una parte fundamental para mejorar la transmisión/conversión de electricidad. Para mí Dac, vale. Para el ampli, ya si eso un Hypsos o similar. Considero está parte como importante pero también hay que valorar que uso se le dará y el presupuesto disponible, Por supuesto. Yo por el momento, contento.

Places at the right place, it’s incredible how this little switch supply can improve the sound of a decent hi-fi system. I use it as the power supply for my media converter- converting from fiber optic to Ethernet, just before my roon endpoint. The difference was not subtle… didn’t have to do a A|B comparison: less digital noise means more music. Simple.

Inserted into my network switch for streaming audio . BIG improvement in audio performance. Highly recommended
