Stormsure Black Car Soft Top Roof & Convertible Repair Kit

Amazing stuff. my roof teared over a year ago I left it and it got worse. Started off as a 25mm hole then grew to 55mm with a large hole under tension when roof is closed. Thought it would be to late to use this stuff as the tear was no longer a clean tear but it appears it wasn't to late. I wouldn't recommend using this in hot weather and in direct sunlight. I used the tape to pull a tear closed but the heat from the sun softened the tape so it pulled open again before applying the glue. Leaving overnight is a must as I believe the glue needs humidity and not heat to set. Managed to close the tear using the tape supported temporarily by duct tape to stop it stretching. Applying the glue was nice and easy as its thick. I could of used masking tape to make it neater but I just wanted to seal the roof before the rain. Its a bit glossy at the moment but but should weather in. if not the roof needs a clean I'm pretty sure I'll be able to tone it down and blend it in when I do this. Roof has been opened and closed a several times and the tear was under tension but its holding tight. Very Happy.

It is easy to use but the glue even in black is very visible. Functional

I've had two Stormsure sets so far, one for inflatable boats and this one. In both cases the adhesive is just remarkable, retaining a sound but flexible repair. The instant patches have been less successful in my opinion. the boat one for an inflatable canoe was "ok" but on the inside of a "mohair" car hood the patch was useless. Would I by again, yes, the glues are great and they certianly last in the freezer as recommended

Having read numerous reviews and watched some youtube videos I decided to give this a go to repair two tears. I followed the instructions and applied the adhesive and patch. Immediately I could see that the patches were not sticking and the edges were raised, so I decided to prop up the underside with some wood and weigh down the repair patch with a weight. This appeared to work and the patch did adhere, but the finish wasn’t great, but I wasn’t expecting miracles, so happy enough. I had to fill the odd gap, as the patch had a wave effect, leaving little gaps along the edge. The patch lasted well for the first month, coping with moving the roof up and down well. It was watertight and significantly reduced the amount of wind noise generated by the tear. Two months later and the the patch was starting to lift in parts. Rather than take off and re-do I invested in a second hand hood. I ended up having to buy a second tube of glue, as there wasn’t enough in the pack for the patches supplied, but I may have been using too much. Overall I would say that this was ideal for a temp fix, but no way would it work for me as a long term solution.

Repaired a small tear on my soft top..very happy it no longer leaks, looks a bit messy but that was my fault!

Absolutely fantastic repair kit for car soft-top or anything canvas. The rubber solution is really flexible when cured without being brittle like silicone.

My son used on his mx5 soft top. It was ok as a temp repair.

Glue already congealed in tube, could only use a small amount near the cap, not helpful when trying to get a job done, would also be helpful if supplied with a spout

This version with the black adhesive was perfect for a more discreet repair on my dark-colored soft top. The glue blended in nicely and created a strong, flexible bond that looks neat and professional. It was easy to apply and has held up well against rain and sun. I'm very pleased with the outcome and would happily use it again.

Bought this for my boyfriend whose soft top had a slit cut into his miata. Literally the perfect solution to keep the rain out from his car.

Sealed up a leak in the roof of my MX-5 when a "professional" patch done by my local convertible roof repair/install shop failed. There was a 2" rip in my Miata's top which was originally repaired with butyl rubber but that cracked and failed after a few times lowering the top. The Stormsure patch has lasted much longer (nearly a year now) and so far hasn't leaked. Install was easy, couldn't ask for more.

C'etait cher pour une patch en papier collant cheapette et un mini tube de colle que jai vidé pour une dechirure de meme pas 2pouce , Une fois le ''tuff tape '' sur la colle ca se mets a frisé meme si jai arrondis les coin , les cheap gants qui viennent avec se déconcriss et fonde ake la colle . Je suis meme pas sur que ca va tenir , javais mis un f l e x tape , cetait laid , jai dessiner au crayon feutre pour le rendre noir pis avoir su jaurais gardé ca de meme parce que ca tenait en svp... Je ne racheterais pas cette cochonerie jamais ... jattend juste que sa tombe parce que jai peu d'espoir et je vais remettre le f l e x tape dessus
