This stuff works. Taking 2g daily for about 1 week (the effect increases with 2 weeks of use), you are able to do more, lifting/pushing your own body or weights. YMMV. There are pre-workout powders that include Betaine, but this powder is a better choice if you don't want to take all the other stuff in those powders. Since it builds in your system over time, it doesn't matter when you take it, which is convenient. Always a good idea to check with your doctor when taking supplements. Mixes easily with water (no scoop included). In 8 ounces of water 1g has very little taste. I'm going to cycle one month on and one off. The month on is to break a workout plateau. Month off is for maintaining that level without the supplement.

There are multiple factors that could have affected my lifts - the deload week I had when I began loading, placebo effect, new preworkout - but there was a noticeable difference about 10 or so days after I began taking in 2-3g/day. Accessory lifts shot up, main compounds felt easier, everything just felt better. For such a cheap cost per serving and no noticeable taste, I'd rather fork over the $17 every 3 months and feel better than possibly lose out on the progress I believe it's helped make. It DOES smell like pee/fish if you stick your nose into the bottle, but why would you do that? Toss a gram into some water in the morning, before your workout, and before you sleep. Maybe even all at once. High quality product overall.
