I am trying to run a line from my furnace to a drain, but this stuff stinks so bad that it makes me sick. Does anyone have an alternate solution?

That's what I used it for and didn't notice a stink. I'd say sit it outside a day or two to air out. Otherwise, 3/4" PEX should work fine.

If you get the 1/2 inch id hose it will fit that nipple.

is this UV resistant ? Can it be used outdoors?

Made in china. It's junk so IDoubt it.

Is it good for water softner drain line? My line runs through the attic.

If you don't live in a cold climate where the line can freeze it will probably work fine. It's pretty stiff even though the seller says flexible. You can use tubing clamps to hold it in place along your joints
