Curious Chef 7-Piece Decorating Set for Kids, For Cakes, Cupcakes, Cookies, and More, Real Kitchen Cooking and Baking Tools, Dishwasher Safe and Made with BPA-Free Plastic

So my daughter received an entire baking kit about 2-3 years ago from Curious Chef. Didn't use for longest time and then one day took it out and will never go back! These guns are GREAT for frosting. I fill will a few spoon fulls of different color frosting. For the most part it stays in and is mess free. Every now and then, I think when an air bubble is caught, the frosting can make its way up the "pusher" but for the most part this is a very fun, easy and clean way to have the kids help frost. Love the fact that you can change tips without make a huge mess. Simple twist on and off while frosting to create a number of creations. Cleanup on the other hand is a bit messy when opening and retracting the "pusher". I find it best to fill a large bowl with hot water and dish soap, remove the top and just let it sit in it for a bit. All pieces are dishwasher safe. The only thing that melted on one of mind was the green "lid" at the top where you fill the frosting. Other than that I've never had a problem. Ordered more of these so my 10yr old daughter could have friends come decorate christmas cookies. They had a blast!! The other Curious Chef items are well made as well, sturdy and sometimes I find myself going to grab those before my Crate&Barrel or name brand cooking/baking supplies- LOL

I purchased this for a budding, nine year old cookie/cake decorator. She was using my pastry bags to pipe frosting and it was a bit hard with her hand size. So, I purchased this decorator set, to make things easier. Since this is a Christmas present, she hasn't used it yet, and it may work. However, when I received the product, it seems a bit cheap and may require as much dexterity as a pastry bag because of the size of the frosting injector. The plus side, it is dishwasher safe - which will make for easier clean-up. This review is from an adult perspective and hopefully, she can adapt to the injection method, versus a piping bag method.

I bought this set not realizing it was made for children. I use it to decorate my cakes, to fill deviled eggs and even to make cheese straws. I like it a lot and love how easy it is to use. Not as sturdy as a 'real' decorator's kit and doesn't hold much frosting/dough, so you have to fill it up more often, but it does he job.

I wanted to test out and experiment with baking more, and though this would be a great addition in order to help me with my baking. It is cheap, much more sturdy than pastry bags, and comes with some great attachments. If you are looking for professional quality this is likely not the route for you, but for people looking to make fancy home made baked goods this is an amazing addition. I look forward to continuing to use this product and work on improving my decorating!

My 3 year old is loving this cake decorating set. We used it to decorate a gingerbread house, it held and dispensed the "glue" perfectly. She has also used it to "decorate" a cake, which was more her pushing a pile of icing into the middle, but that's okay! Can't wait to see her skills improve as she gets older and more familiar with this tool. It holds quite a bit of icing and is simple to switch out tips as they just screw on.

My kids love to use this with homemade whipped cream. It doesn't hold much, so you have to refill it frequently. Held up to the dishwasher, which is great. If you want something for frequent use, I would recommend something sturdier, but for occasional use by children, and if you expect they will wear it out, this would work.

So cheaply made. I came back and bought a second one once we received it because I knew that at any time it would probably break when my kids are using it. I can't find anything else small enough for my kids to use but when I do these are going in the garbage. I wouldn't recommend them.

I purchased this for Christmas for my girls. We have other curious chef products, and really enjoy them. However, this one is very poorly made. This has many pieces to keep track of, and is very cheap plastic. The tips screw onto the base, but many of them don’t match the base. The small pump that allows you to push the decor out is flimsy and does not apply evenly.I was hopeful that this product would be easier than using a pastry bag. However; in the future pastry bag all the way! I do not recommend this product, but be sure to look at other products by this company.

More like a toy than a kitchen gadget. Not a good idea for serious baking.

I ended up ordering 2 by mistake and haven't used these yet but have used the rest of the curious chef packages we got and I assume these are as excellent as the others. Great product line

Gave it to our almost 5 year old granddaughter. She loved it.

Broke after 1st use... Definitely not worth the purchase. And my daughter is very gentle with her stuff.

My son loves it! Very easy for kids to use.
