This was expensive for what you get which is not a lot. I had planted 4 hostas in a flower bed and they were being completely destroyed by slugs. I had already bought plastic plant protectors which did not work - the slugs simply crawled over the sides. I emptied some of these pellets inside the plastic protectors and hoped that it would deter the slugs. It didn't! As soon as it rained, or I watered the plant, these pellets became a lump of wet mush which the slugs simply crawled over. Go not waste your money.

I liked these as they are all natural no smell or toxins . The bag was quite big they did help deter some slugs but you need to use quite a bit of them

The way you put this on is important. It needs to be a complete and fairly wide ring (I made mine 4cm wide) and it needs watered in to make the wool fibres mat together. The watering might make gaps in the ring so they need to be rearranged after watering. I had 5 tiny lupin seedlings to protect- one was almost completely eaten before I put the wool pellets on so really I started with 4 seedlings. Three survived and one was lost to slugs but I think it was because there was a gap in the ring. So overall, pretty pleased. I didnât want to use poison

I donât like using slug pellets and wanted to try something more natural and better for the birds. The concept is great and the little pellets of wool are less glaring to look at than the blue slug pellets. I think you probably need quite a lot to cover the soil and make an impact but I will buy again and use them in the future. Kinder than slug pellets
