I'm a black American male, light brown skin and have some small discoloration on my face that mostly came from chickenpox from when I was 18 years old and it was bad. I just started using this cream and so far, no skin irritation; I was afraid of the retinol ingredient. I'm looking for something to really diminish the hyperpigmentation in my skin. Only thing I don't like is the scent. The smell is not good; not a sweet powdery, or shea butter nor cocoa butter sent. It's like a slightly burnt scent, If I could describe the smell. So I gave it a 3 star so far. I wish the fragrance smelled better.
