Zero Stars - The whole thing - mortar and pestal - was covered in BLACK MOLD. Someone could have died.

There was no pride when this was made. The absolute worst craftmanship I have ever seen. It must have been made by children. Inside of mortar is full of torn wood fibers and splintering. If you want wood shards in your food, then this is the one you want.

DO NOT ORDER! This item arrived wet and covered in mold. The minute I opened the box my entire house stunk of mold and mildew. I immediately got it out of the house and threw it in my trash. I didn’t even want to touch it. I lost all my money on it because I couldn’t return it. Even with providing photos, I lost the total sale price amount. Should have looked at the reviews. Others wanted about them arriving covered in mold.

I am content with this product. It does what I need it to do and more. It is large enough to make a big batch of papaya salad. Easy to clean.

The product sucked. The quality of the wood turning was horrible. I ha to sand the interior of the mortar because it was left roughly complete. The pestle was not completely turned and marks of the holding components of the lathe remained. The paint job on the exterior of the mortar looked like a kindergarten kid painted it. I only kept it because I have the tools and skills to improve it.

Came moldy but packaging is good... I washed everything with dish soap and water to get rid of the mold...

This is my repeat order, the size of the product is smaller. due to the hassle of shipping it back and paying for the return freight. I decided to let it be. And will not be ordering this product through Amazon again.
