Patches helped me quit, Nicoderm being vastly superior to the cheaper alternatives
As the title says, my experience with Nicoderm has been the best of few brands, including generics. So far it has the "smoothest" of the releases, notably a couple of the generic brands especially would give me vivid dreams, queasy stomachs upon initial application, and also doesn't stick well to my skin. So, while the price especially can be a significant draw to the generics, it simply isn't worth it for me. Highly worth the extra few dollars per purchase, and in the end, it's still significantly cheaper than cigarettes ever were for me. I initially was planning on using it because I was flying to New Zealand and Australia for 3 weeks, which requires a 16 hour flight alone just to cross the pacific, and was a grand total of 38 hours of time from departing our homes to arriving at our hostel. Obviously this was going to he a problem if I still smoked. I haven't had a single cigarette since October 29th after having initially started and "caved in" a few times on the generics starting earlier that month. Nonetheless, a reduction to the occasional cigarette or two and finally none at all was achieved. A few things to note for those wishing to quit regardless of what brand of patches they use: * Do NOT forget about where you put it each day and certainly don't forget to remove the patch when applying the new one. I found that it worked best to remove prior to showering and apply the new on afterwards. All patches develop rashes for being left on too long, notably the cheaper brands were noticeably worse and quicker to develop. (All rashes rapidly disappear after a short amount of time with little irritation, but irritation nonetheless.) * Make sure you apply it to an area that has little to no motion of the skin when you move around. A surprising amount of areas I learned will move around when I move my arms. * The patch provides no observable sun protection so I had a lovely square sunburn after a day in the sun. Like seemingly all body-safe adhesives, sunscreen use prior to application renders the adhesive non-functional. Sunscreen "over" the patch did nothing.

I’m now 1 month without cigarettes
NicoDerm is the highest quality patch I’ve used in my journey to stop smoking. The adhesion is very strong. I place the patch on my upper left arm-make sure it’s clean & thoroughly dry. These are easy to use. You must use caution in cutting & taking the patch out of the package. The first 3 days were the hardest. It’s said it takes 3 days to break a habit & it’s very much true. It wasn’t easy but I was determined. I was smoking a pack of cigarettes every 2 days. To also assist me if I had a craving I purchased Nicoderm fruit flavored gum. It’s refreshing to chew & got me through the first week. I will occasionally chew a piece during times of stress when I always turned to a cigarette for comfort. The patch helped with nicotine withdrawal I would get if I stopped cold turkey. It’s been 1 month using the 21mg box. 14 patches in a box may be costly but for what I spent on cigarettes I’m saving a lot of money. I’ll begin step 2 of rhe NicoDerm patches which is the 14mg, a lower dose of nicotine. I have hope the patch will slowly prove abstinence for me & cease my need for nicotine. NicoDerm is the best patch to purchase. Others I’ve tried in the past performed were no where close to what these patches do. I feel wonderful. My lungs are clearing, my breathing is healthier, the repair process has begun. I highly recommend this product. I had a plain in place. I threw out all my lighters & was determined I was going to succeed this time. This time of year would be when I smoked the most. I made a list of all the negatives of smoking & have the lists posted in 3 areas of my home as a reminder & motivation to stay strong. I’m now no longer waking up & immediately thinking I need a cigarette. It’s truly the greatest feeling in the world. I don’t feel trapped in the negative aspect of smoking. I’m proud of myself to be able to drive by the convenience stores I’d stop at to buy my cigarettes. If you’re ready to stop smoking these are the patches to purchase. Again, I will highly recommend. It’s a wonderful feeling. If you’re motivated these are the patches to purchase!

Not Perfect, But Way Better Than Chasing Cravings
I’ve tried just about everything to get off nicotine, and the patch has honestly been one of the more stable options for me. It doesn’t give you that quick hit like gum or a vape, but it smooths things out—no crazy highs or crashes, just a steady feeling that helps take the edge off. The first couple of days felt a little weird. I had some vivid dreams at night, especially when I wore it to bed, but nothing unmanageable. I eventually adjusted and started using it mostly during the day. It actually helped level out my mood and kept the cravings from taking over. I wasn’t constantly thinking about when I’d get my next fix. Is it perfect? No. But for me, it gave me some breathing room to think clearly and not feel so hijacked by the habit. If you’re serious about quitting or even just cutting back, it’s worth trying. Just be patient with your body—it takes a little time to adjust, but it’s way better than white-knuckling it.

Best chance to be a quitter
I wasn't thrilled with how difficult it was to open this without scissors. Adhesion was not great for me. It would be half peeled blwithin 10-12 hours. I placed on my lower back, upper thigh, high buttock, mid back, no matter where it was placed it just didn't grab for longer. I suffered thru the red itchy blotches after peeling off. My skin reacted to it but it was worth it. An itchy red blotch is way better than smoking and all the BS that goes along with it. Picture submitted is a 4-week old patch mark. It's slowly fading. I highly recommend this product to assist in kicking the habit. I smoked about half pack a day average on weekday, weekend was a bit more. I have been off of it for four weeks and feeling 👍 😃 great! Good luck to all.
