They All Saw a Cat (Brendan Wenzel) Review: Gorgeous, Delightful Book that Delivers Happiness to Kids AND Adults Alike. - This book has become the favorite of my 3 and 4 year old kids since I got it a month ago. Not only do they ask for it every night as one of their bedtime books, but they also ask for it throughout the day. The story seems simple, "The cat walked through the world, with its whiskers, ears and paws.", but it is anything but simple. This book has an ingenious way of teaching perspective, that even my 3 and 4 year old can understand. They see the cat through various animal's eyes, and they always have questions about it. It is so easy to get completely wrapped up in this book with your kids, I love the story and the illustrations just as much as they do, and I enjoy having a teaching prop that helps me to explain complex topics in a way that they can understand. This book is beautifully illustrated and after I read it, my kids like to go back and look at all of the pictures and "read" it to themselves (they know every word by heart). I have been disappointed with other, highly reviewed childrens books on desertcart, that I believe are entertaining more for the parents, but seem murky and uninteresting for the kids. Not this book. There is a reason it gets almost all 5 star reviews, it is gorgeous and delightful for BOTH kids and parents. My only sadness about this book, is that I couldn't scoop up an additional copy during Prime Day to give to my niece because it was claimed so quickly. But that's ok - this book is totally worth paying full price for, and I know she will want it in her library as well. Beautiful. A book that you could frame. High quality interesting for all ages.
Absolutely beautiful book. Great for little kids PreK through grade 5 or older. I'm an adult and enjoyed it very much. It's a visual book the writing is minimalistic, poetic and well done. It shows how the same cat is seen by all these different animals like a dog or a boy or a snake or a bee or a bat and how although each entity is seeing the same cat, none of them are getting the same picture of what the cat looks like, especially the mouse :O It's printed on high-quality paper. It's beautiful, it has a beautiful dust cover, the hardcover under the desk jacket is minimalistic but still looks nice. I highly recommend this book for kids who are curious about animals. Kids who are at a developmental stage where they're understanding that other people see the world differently than them and this book really drives that point home. Which helps develop empathy. Parents who has autistic children may find Value in this. Visual art is a great medium for that. I think it even makes a nice coffee table book.

Love Love Love
My 2 year old loves cats and I’ve been wanting to get this book for awhile. The artwork is incredible and engaging. I can’t say enough good things about the illustrations. My son will pick this book by himself and just sit on the floor flipping through the pages. He loves the pages with the fish and the bee. Besides the artwork, what I love about it is the message of perspective. I think the text is repetitive enough for small kids to enjoy, and the messaging is something that even adults can get on board with. I plan to buy this one for a couple of my friends with little ones!

Neat book
A great picture book with a pattern to the sentences that reminds you of the early readers kids use to learn to read in kindergarten. Had there been a bit more to the story or at least a discussion at the end, I would have given the book 5 stars. That said, it's great for showing kids that everyone sees things in their own way (more than one way to see things/do things, etc.) - good to teach flexibility of thought. The art is beautiful so the picture book aspect is great for yound kids, and it's also a great book to have emerging readers read to you!

Ponder and Reflect
How are you viewed by another creature or person? I love the different perspectives of the different animals. The language was repetitive, perfect for building fluency and comprehension. The book allows children to learn about another person's or animal's point of view. It opens up questions about how we think other animals and people look at us and through what lens.

The art in this is just amazing. I bought it for an adult tattoo artist.. I’m going to buy a copy for me.

I bought this lovely book for a 4-year-old girl. She, her mother and me absolutely love this book! The illustrations are charming, yet different from page to page. The essence that the same thing might look completely different depending on the perspective of the viewer is clear, even for a 4-year-old. She is 7 now and still loves to flip through the pages and enjoy the wonderful pictures. Watching the book together has become a nice habit each time I come to visit her.

Great for learning about different perspectives. As the cat walks through the world the book shows how others view the cat. Very well done.

Este libro, ademas de tener unas preciosas ilustraciones, enseña a los niños a aprender que las cosas se pueden ver desde diferentes puntos de vista.
