Hairline Instant Formula (Black) Root Touchup for Gray Hair, Thinning & Bald Spots Concealer

After using henna/indigo for years on my almost 50 year old hair, I have decided to let it grow in whatever color is my natural color which I am pretty sure is 85% white/grey/silver. I am now 6 weeks in and probably have 1" of contrasting growth. (pictured) THIS product is perfect! I part my hair before curling it to see what roots will be exposed and then pat this product on to cover whatever shows. I then style my hair as normal and maybe pat a little more on if more shows. As you can see from the picture it really covers the contrasting roots well and blends in pretty well to the old henna/indigo treated hair. It also seems to act as a "dry shampoo" because I noticed I can go 3 days without a shampoo when I normally would wash my hair every other day. Overall ... this is perfect as I start my journey of "going grey". UPDATE … I am 3+ months in and have a decent amount of “grey”. I decided to update with a side by side comparison of how well it is still working. This powder really cuts down the demarcation. It also has great staying power. Loved it so much I bought another to get me through the next couple of months.

Really covers gray! Not sticky and has no smell.

It’s not that it completely hides my gray roots but it blends them in so well and is the best root powder I have found. I use a make up brush and it just takes a minute to apply. I lightly hair spray my hair down smoothly first, before using the powder but you probably wouldn’t have to. I apply generously. On this journey to use healthier hair and skin products, this is a win. Please don’t stop making or supplying this. Thanks!

Product arrived within two or three days. Color looks dark. Bought dark brown. But it goes on a little lighter and powdery. I dab it then hold and rub it on for best results. I don't paint it on. Seems to be waterproof a bit Bec I used gel and it didn't rub off. Comes in a small little eye shadow like jar with a circle white sponge which fits nicely under the container. Has a mirror.

I am updating this for you folks. Works pretty well to cover up the root for a few days before touch up. When dipping brush into the powder, do gently tap the brush on the cover to get off access powder. Then separate the hair line for root to be exposed, and gently brush on your roots. Good luck and Just don't sleep on white pillow cases or white sheets., unless you wash your hair before bedtime.

This is a great value, compared to Joan Rivers Great Hair Day, which I have been using for several years. The color is accurate. I got the medium brown, but with GHD I have to get the blonde. So far, it works just as well as GHD, but if you do the math, this is a better value. You get only a little more of GHD, but it costs nearly $30, so I will be ordering this again. I don't use the little puff that comes with it, but rather a soft brush; I feel like I waste less that way. Recommend. UPDATE: Another reviewer said the medium brown they received was red. They must have gotten a bad batch, or maybe it was mislabeled. I would send it back. The medium brown I received was the true color.
