These packs freeze well and are flexible, making them easy to fit around items in coolers or shipping boxes. They stay cold for a reasonable amount of time. Pros: reusable, flexible, convenient size Cons: not as long-lasting as true dry ice Bottom line: Useful reusable cold packs for short-to-medium cooling needs.

I was looking for a more cost effective way to ship with ice packs and came across these. They arrived in good condition. Pros: - Easy to use soak and freeze - Adjustable sizes (can cut to fit as needed) - Great packaging - Could be good for lunches if you cut and separate after freezing without tearing to prevent leaking (I would isolate from food in a zip lock) Cons (or user error, still on the fence so just learn from my mistake) : - Damaged my mailer box a Usps boxes / leaked through and products were not cold after 1- 3 day shipments. (Maybe try using insulated bubble padding to prevent this if you do want to use for mailing) - I didn’t cut before freezing, so when I went to place them in packages / boxes and resize them, they would tear on the paper/ fabric side, exposing the frozen content and were no longer usable for that purpose. - Not as long lasting as previous choices. I even shipped next day locally and the box was wet and warm upon arrival. The packs weren’t damaged or ripped so I’m not sure if it was the condensation or more so a leak since you do have to soak them to solidify them in the first place. All in all, it definitely depends on the purpose of use. I don’t dislike them, entirely since they can be used for lunches, but definitely not for my business or shipping in heat.

For those of you who need to ice during chemo, all of the products made for that specifically only last 20 to 30 minutes. My wife’s chemo last six hours. The treatment that requires icing lasts three hours. I tried all the other products and bought 4 of them. Carried in three coolers packed with ice to keep those things cool. It didn’t work. it’s not made for Chemo, it’s made for the kids with sprained ankles. Nice packs Mini comes with 10 sheet's work! I kept one random order of the others just to have the gloves and the footies that the other products offer. But these nice packs Mini lasted all day. They are a great size. Now there’s probably a doctor or a nurse on this site reading it saying no no you don’t use something like this for chemo. My wife did not find it to be too cold. If you do, put on a pair of socks over your hands and feet. . You can make it work. This stayed cold the whole day. There was no changing out those plastic ice packs every 20 or 30 minutes. We cut these to the size we needed to fit her hands and feet. We used about half of the packet. This is your answer. I’m not getting paid I’m not working for the Company. I’m a husband who spent a month or more trying to find the answer to prevent neuropathy for his wife. Cancer we will beat Neuropathy has no cure …yet. These stay cold the whole treatment May God Bless you

I bought these to ship food to a friend across the country (USA) and needed something that would stay frozen/cold for at least 2-3 days while the package traveled with standard shipping. When I bought these packs, the description included "dry ice" and "long lasting", but I did not read into many more of the details until after they arrived. They only hold their cold temperature for about 24 hours, unlike dry ice or other shipping ice that lasts at least 48-72 hours while a package is en route. Because it is the holidays, I just sucked it up and paid extra for a next day delivery which is very costly right now. The materials it is made from seem durable enough, but they were very difficult to separate even with cloth towels between each one. I would say that this is a "you get what you pay for" item: If you are okay with a cheap, short-term ice pack or something for like a lunch box or a daytime outing, this is probably just fine. If you need anything to keep perishables cold while they travel, I would say check out something else that is guaranteed to last longer.

I realize these are not marketed for medical use. That said there have been two times I needed very long lasting ice packs post surgically and these were amazing. 1. I had carpal tunnel surgery and had to drive for eight hours four days after surgery. I could not have done it with out these ice packs. They are frozen/cold for about 8 hours in a temperate environment. I did not have to leave it on my hand for an extended amount of time but it was available to me when I needed it for the whole 8 hour drive. The self activated ice packs you can buy are not great, they are never cold enough nor do they last more then 20 minutes. Plus a lot of them are faulty and don't activate when twisted. 2. I recently had bilateral knee replacements, these have been amazing I went to a Penatonix concert 6 weeks post op and would not have been able to do so with out these ice packs. You can cut them to size if they are too big. I used a knee brace/wrap made to hold ice packs that I could slide this one into instead and then could velcro to my knees. I also use them on my knees at home. They are the right temperature and last again around 8 hours. They do not take up huge amounts of freezer space because you have to have so many to be able to switch them out. If you are going to have surgery and will need to be icing BUY THESE you will thank me later. ONLY CON: (But with a solution.) I put them in a zip lock bag after hydrating them and then freezing because after a while with extended use they can break and gel beads can come out with extended use. The ziplock bag just makes it so they don't make a mess you have to clean up while in recovery.
