PETZL Elastic Headband

This purchase was a replacement for my Petzl headlamp strap that got really loose. Its a good replacement; once I figured how to put it together. the instructions weren't great. I had to google how to do it. However. This replacement is pretty good because its is actually three pieces. My old strap was only one piece. The small plastic piece is the looping point for the headband. The white section in the middle is actually a reflector. There is also a shorter secondary strap that attaches to the top of the small plastic piece and goes over the top of the wearer's head. This is to have a more secure hold. Both straps are very long so that you enough slack to attach it to a helmet or hardhat. This headlamp strap is great once you figure out how to put it together.

Petzl supports their products extremely well. My Myo XP's strap has stretched and lost its elasticity, making it unwearable. This replacement strap perfectly fixed the problem. Contrast this with Black Diamond, whose Xenix IQ, a wonderful headlamp, had the exact same problem, but no replacement strap to be had. All I received was the offer of a 20% discount on a new one. I don't see the point of paying all of that money to replace a perfectly functional headlamp, just because the soft-goods portion wore out. I will ALWAYS buy Petzl headlamps in the future.

I bought this to replace the band on a Tikka XP2. It works fine, but I kept the clip from the original light, i.e. the one with the inbuilt whistle instead of using the one provided in this pack (that would be the one sitting on its own in the picture above). The one provided is enormous, as I believe it is there to provide the option to put it on a number of different Petzl headlamps. The instruction manual that comes with the band shows how to thread it for different headlamps. It also comes with a second shorter band for going over the head I believe.

I could not figure out how to install the band on my headlamp assembly. However, one of my employees figured it out and I love it. It’s very comfortable especially compared to the previous rubber one.

I've had my Petzl Tikka for years and it's served me well. The elastic strap started to give out (which is to be expected after so long). This replacement strap fits perfectly and is pretty easy to put on. It's given my old workhorse of a headlamp new life!

Purchased this to replace a band on an older Petzl headlamp that had lost its elasticity. The instructions aren't super clear, but they're not difficult to figure out because the band can only go on so many ways. Once it's on, it was easy to adjust to fit my head.

After 5 years of constant use at work, the band on my tikka 2 headlamp finally crapped out. I use this to secure my headlamp to the exterior of my hardhat. It works great and and was easy to install with the supplied directions.

This can also be used to replace a Tikka headband if you can't find the Tikka replacement kit. Just leave out the top strap. The top strap is much shorter than the strap that goes around the head, so you can't use this kit to replace the headbands on 2 Tikkas.

A top-quality replacement strap from Petzl. Uses the more premium, soft-feel elastic and it includes a top-strap. It’s a premium item at a premium price, it would definitely feel better value if it came in under £10. I bought this for my Myolite 3, which uses a narrower top-strap than the one included here, which is the same width as the mainstrap. Though it would’ve worked just using the main strap I decided to return it an upgrade to a more modern lamp.

I couldn't find one for my old Petzl Zoom so got this instead hoping I could make it work. The strap is wider than the old one but still works. Only the openings at the battery box at the back of the head needed a bit of filing to get the strap through. Unless you cut off the plastic ends but I wanted to keep those.

I bought this item to replace my stretched and misshaped headband. Perfect replacement.

Great product, better price. In Spain, only the complete Petzl Duo head torch (model 1.999) was available, priced 100 plus euros. And with the bands all overstretched, my Petzl was o/s. So finding this set in Amazon.co.uk made my day. Kudos for the british Amazon partner of Amazon, I always check this out to compare stock and prices.

Headband arrived within a day. My head torch elastic had disintegrated and I needed replacement as I have no lights, so a head torch is very useful the replacement headband was easy to use and now I have a fully functional head torch.
