I waited about three weeks to write a review to see how this would hold up. It really works! I’ve been getting professional keratin & straightening treatments in the salon for years, but haven’t been happy with the results the last few times. Wanted to try doing it myself to make sure it was done thoroughly. Post treatment my hair air dries without frizz and it’s much straighter. I still have to blow dry it to give it the sleek & shiny look, but that’s always been the case with any keratin treatment I’ve done in the salon. Blow dry time is cut to less than half the time. Pros: 1) It really works! Keep in mind it’s like any other professional “straightening” treatment. The process is long and it won’t make the hair pin straight and shiny without actually blow drying to give it that sleek look. Because it is heat activated this is quick and easy. 2) The blue pigment helps control unwanted brassy tones. Cons: 1) There is a lingering smell, especially when the hair is wet. This reminds me of the Magic Sleek. 2) I had to reorder the product bc the first package that arrived was clearly opened before and the box was all ripped. I didn’t trust that it wasn’t tampered with. No lost stars however bc Amazon didn’t give me any issue with return & replacement. 3) The blue pigment does make for a messy application, but thankfully everything washes off easily. Even from my white tshirt, the blue came out completely in the wash. 4) The gloves provided are very cheap and flimsy. They ripped easily and my fingers did turn blue (I replaced them mid way with better gloves). The blue came out after about a day.

I've used the original Kativa straightener a few times and it always turned out wonderfully! Nice smooth, non frizzy, straight hair. Decided to try this type to avoid the orange hair afterwards. This type did NOT work as well at all. Maybe it's not as strong, I don't know. But I used it exactly the same way as the original and my hair was left with a ton of friz, some areas were not straightened at all, and my hair wasn't as soft as the other stuff. I did like how this one was easier to brush out and it really didn't turn my hair orange, but i will just stick with the original and dye my hair afterwards.

I ordered this Brunette Brazilian Blow Out kit for myself to use on my hair at home. I have color treated naturally curly brown hair. I also have color treated hand tied Remy Cachet extensions as well. I have to use heat and hot tools on my hair daily... The process was relatively easy to do. Everything was straight forward, with the exception of the box not being in English. Thankfully the instructions provided English directions. There are gloves provided, however they're loose and get in the way. I had tighter fitting disposable gloves, so I used those to apply the treatment. Treatment is purple/blue in color. It definitely stains your hands. I used disposable gloves to apply treatment, but when it came time to blow dry my hair it was hard to do with gloves on because they kept getting too hot, so I removed them and while completing steps 4, 5 and 6 my I did not use gloves because I wanted to be able to feel my hair to ensure it was completely dry. The treatment dyed my hands purple/blue, but it washed off in the shower without issue. Step 1: Wash hair twice pre-treatment shampoo, twice. Do NOT condition. Step 2: Dry hair COMPLETELY. Step 3: Apply treatment to DRIED hair, in sections. Leave on for 15 minutes. Step 4: Remove excess. I used a comb and paper towels. Step 5: Blow dry hair COMPLETELY dry. Step 6: Flat iron hair in small 1" sections; going over 8-12 times Step 7: Let hair "cool" completely. Step 8: Rinse hair until all blue/purple is out. Step 9: Shampoo hair with provided After-Treatment Shampoo, twice. Step 10: Condition hair with provided After-Treatment Conditioner, leave on for 3-5 minutes Step 11: Air dry or blow dry hair. PROS: + Super easy to do at home + Super easy to do alone, just yourself + No mixing + Everything is labeled nicely and in English CONS: - Dyed my hands purple/blue - but it comes off! - Time consuming (Took me a total of 4.5 hours - 9am-11:30am on steps 1-7. I let my hair "cool" for two hours before following steps 8-11. I let my hair air dry, because I wanted to see how much of my curl was left, and how frizzy it would dry. - Definitely lightened my hair by at least 3 shades - good thing I did my extensions as well, since I read previous reviews that stated this lightens dyed hair. SMELL: * Pre-treatment Shampoo: Not much of a smell, reminded me of dish detergent * Treatment : Smelled amazing. Reminded me of a candy I used to eat as a kid, but I can't remember what it is. * After-Treatment Shampoo : Smells okay. Strong scent. * After-Treatment Conditioner : Smells okay. Strong scent. SOFTNESS & MANAGABILITY + Hair was not completely pin straight, which is good - I didn't want that. There is some wave to my natural hair, and zero frizz. + Hair is super soft and manageable + Air dry time faster + Cuts blow drying time in half + Used the air wrap attachment for my Dyson blow dryer to create loose waves and body - held all day without hair product. This states that it lasts 12 weeks. I wash my hair 1-2 times a week, depending how many days I'm in the office, so I am hoping that this will last longer than 12 weeks for me, but if not, I would totally do it again But I would make sure to have some toner on hand at home, so I could tone my hair after (which the instructions state it is okay to do the same day) because this changes your dyed hair color exponentially.

I had never tried a keratin treatment with this product before, but honestly, I give it 100 out of 10. It's super good, I loved it! It left my callus shiny without stripping my color.

I love this kit!!! Does my hair beautifully and LASTS!! This is easy to do myself, and the results are gorgeous !!!
