Very nice quality and works well
When my 15 year old Miele upright gave up the ghost and I found Miele no longer made uprights I was devastated. The Simplicity upright has many of the same features as the Miele so I ordered. The pros- great suction that revived the nap on carpeting. Adjustable cleaning wand and 2 on board tools. Adjustable height or auto adjustment. Light weight (15lbs I believe). Small foot print for easy use in tight spaces and between chair legs. Nice edge system to get close to walls/baseboards. Hepa filters. Cleans well. Cons- loud! If you have hardwood/tile floors, curtains or use for dusting you need to purchase a separate 1 1/4 brushes (universal attachment kits are great). The carpet rotator brush does not stop when you use the cleaning wand. So be aware of cord and toe location. The cord is a bit short for larger homes, much plugging and unplugging. No suction selection. So same suction whether vacuuming carpet or drapes. So far not an issue. Overall I’d give the vacuum 4.5 stars but rounding up to 5 as it is worth the money and does a nice job.

Great vacuum with a short cheap cord. Goofy
Works great. I read a review indicating it was very loud. I have an Oreck XL which I like for carpet and it sounds like a freight train compared to this Simplicity vacuum. The floor only, roller brush turned off, mode is even quieter. It’s a little heavy, but it’s also heavy duty so I don’t mind. The one beef I have is the cheap little cord they put on this. Just can’t figure out how you can make a machine this nice and then find the cheapest possible shortest cord to attach to it. I mean, how much more would it cost to put a good quality 35 or 40 or 50 foot cord on it? I mean charge an extra $10 for it. It would be worth it or make it an option. Other than that, I love it.

The Simplicity Vacuum Really Sucks!
I purchased this vacuum as a father's day gift for my husband. He loves it! I replaced our old Panasonic which I also loved but had seen better days and was beginning to fail. There are several things I like about this vacuum. 1. Easy to put together. 2. Great Suction 3. On board attachments 4. There are 3 different filters 5. Bags are easily disposed of 6. Cord length is fine. Now for the not so greats. 1. I wish the cord was retractable, I really, really miss that feature, the Panasonic had that and it prevents you from running over the cord or having it get in your way. 2. It is clogging rather easily and I have to take the thing apart to get to the clog. It's a pain. 3. Wish it was self propelled. That was such great feature and now you can't find that feature on any vacuum. The first one I had was a Hoover and that was self propelled. The Panasonic was also self propelled. Now I'm a lot older and I really need that feature or vacuuming is pure drudgery. It's getting very hard to push the thing. 4. I wish it had that little light that tells you the bag is getting full. Not really necessary but a great convenience, not having to pull the cover off the vacuum and check manually. The Simplicity does it's job but it could stand improvements and added features that I can't seem to find in any vacuum. It's making me kind of wish Panasonic still made vacuum cleaners with all those much appreciated little conveniences that no one thinks about until, well, they aren't available. Maddening really because none of the products I've looked at have any of those things I've mentioned. Won't someone please pick up the mantel? You'd make a fortune.

Just because it’s made in china doesn’t mean it’s no good
Pretty decent vacuum , I have had it over 3 years still works great, no problems, it replaced the American made simplicity that burned up that cost a lot more ,would buy another one

Cheaply made motor failed and not covered by warantee
Don't buy this vacuum. My motor went out after only 24-months. I only have a few area rugs that I vacuum, so it is insane that it broke already. Repair shop told me this is a cheap Chinese made vac and he has seen a lot of issues with it. Choose something else if you are wise.

Hands down, the best budget friendly vac on the market
First - our family is HARD on our vacuums. Buy the warranty and return it within a year at Best Buy-hard on vacuums. We have huskies and cattle dogs along with toddlers. We have killed many vacuums including Dysons, Sharks and Roombas. I started looking for another option after our Shark Strateos kept leaving dog hair on our Ruggable. After a ton of research, I settled on this Simplicity model and am so happy. We are one month in and I’m still very happy. Even my husband, who gave me a little grief over buying “another” vacuum, loves it. Pros: -pretty lightweight for a plug in -front light makes it easier to see dirt -amazing suction -doesn’t leave dog hair behind -HEPA filter makes a big difference for allergies Cons: -loud We only have area rugs, no carpeted rooms so I can’t speak to that. But if you have hard floors and have pets - this is the best vacuum you’ll buy in this range. Trust me - I’ve tried them all and they don’t hold a candle to this. Worth the money.

Not a perfect vacuum by any means.
After all the glowing reviews, I was really looking forward to receiving this vacuum to replace my old heavy Shark LiftAway. It is lighter than the Shark but not a lightweight vacuum cleaner by any means. Pros: it does clean well and picks up plenty of dirt and dog hair. I like the long hose which does extend far enough with the attachment to reach the corners of my ceiling and tops of the drapes. I like the bag, which has a good capacity.. Cons: I think the design of the vacuum is poor because there is no place to easily lift the vacuum up a step or onto a thick carpet. It’s very awkward and I found myself grabbing the hose attachment handle (which would of course pull out of the housing) when I needed to lift up the vacuum. There is so much on the handle of the vacuum (cord keeper, bag container) that there’s no space to grab it if you need to lift it up. Also, the location of the bag release is awkward, because I would find myself grabbing it when I was trying to pick up the vacuum cleaner. The cord is not as long as I expected it to be based on the description. It would not reach from one end of my small single-story home to the other. I had to add a 9 foot extension cord to get the extra distance I needed to avoid constantly unplugging/plugging it in. Although I like the feature of having the cleaning attachments on the vacuum; I found the dusting brush almost useless because it is so short and stiff that it won’t really pick up anything. I would much prefer the dusting brushes I have had on previous vacuums that had longer softer Brushes that really worked. Also, it doesn’t have a simple fabric attachment, which I have had on every other vacuum I have ever owned. I considered returning the vacuum, but have decided to keep it because it does clean well, which I guess is the point of having a vacuum anyway!
