Bought this to replace the old water pump on our houseboat that died. As a woman with 0 prior experience owning a boat or doing any type of plumbing this was SUPER easy to install and get up and running. It has better PSI than the old one did and gives amazing water pressure even when more than one faucet is running. The screws to mount it were a bit tricky I accidentally screwed them to far and the mount didn't take properly the first time but I bought some 4200 and put some on the screws before retracing and that seemed to do the trick.

Operates as described.

Replacement went almost effortless. The only difference is that my previous pump had longer rubber legs so i had to re-use old ones, mounting holes provide 2 alternative setups, which is good, i didn't need to drill new holes. Pump is same noisy as older one, but I am sorta used to it.

I had to fill something in for the yes or no questions but I honestly cannot give this a yes or no answer, because this is the only pump of its kind I have owned. All I can say is that I have been through 3 of them since 2023. In reading reviews, people complain about their freshwater pumps all the time so I hesitate to compare this to any other pump. I can say that it works for about a year and then dies for one reason or another. This time it was the pressure switch, but I needed a functional pump immediately, so I ordered a new one, replaced it, and then with the old one out, could conveniently diagnose it, with the help of Jabsco awesome service. I replaced the pressure switch for more than half the price of a new pump, and I now have a functioning back up. I'll probably do the same again until I can't find the same pump again, because I can just remove and replace with the same screw holes and connectors. When it works, it works. ONE IMPORTANT THING - with the previous pump I had terrible troubles with it running constantly with no water pumping. I found this complaint online a lot. I thoroughly traced my system for leaks, which led me back to the pump, where I discovered that the little strainer that comes with it leaks. I talked to Xylem/Jabsco (Paul Campagna - fantastic service) and he assured me that if you are using a good freshwater source, then there is no need for the strainer. Since I've removed the strainer, I've had only - it works, or its dead. It also is possible that the pressure switch would have lasted longer if the strainer had not been leaking. My experiences with Paul Campagna are another reason why I will stick with Xylem/Jabsco products. He responds quickly by both email and phone - and he gets it!!
