ONE Protein Bar, Chocolate Birthday Cake, 22g Protein, 1g Sugar, 12-Pack

This is such a great protein bar. I am supposed to have 60-80 grams of protein daily and this has 22, with only 210 calories. It's perfect and gives that sweet dessert-like flavor I enjoy at the end of a long day. I've tried other chocolate flavored protein bars and was disappointed in all of them. Perhaps I expected them to taste too much like the real thing. This did not disappoint. I've gotten it more than once and will be ordering it again!

I've tried all of the flavors of ONE bars and have loved them. So I was excited to see this flavor I hadn't tried before - it's not in any of the variety packs or sold in stores. Since I've loved the other flavors, including regular Birthday Cake, I ordered a box of Chocolate Birthday Cake. Now I know that this flavor is discontinued and that totally makes sense, because it's terrible, especially compared to the others. It has a chemical-y taste and also tastes stale. It's unfortunate because if this is the first flavor someone tries, I can see why they would never eat another ONE bar. My favorite flavors are Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate/Yellow Cake, Salted Caramel, Almond Bliss, Peanut Butter Pie, Birthday Cake and Cinnamon Roll. Pumpkin Pie is also great but it's a seasonal flavor.

The flavor of the outer coating is ok, but the inside still has that chalky protein powder taste and gritty texture. It's marginally better than other brands I have tried. Not something I'm really excited to reach for.

As always, I love the quality of One Bars, hence why I've giving five stars. However, this flavor while not terrible isn't my favorite. It has a bit of a sour taste to it, which I think might be coming from the sugar alcohols. I would still purchase the flavor again, though! What amazes me about these bars is their ability to keep my feeling full for an extended period of time. As a runner/lifter, it's really imperative for me to get the nutrients and energy I need while being conscious of the type of fuel I'm using. This brand is amazing, and has become my go-to brand for protein bars. Highly recommended, but would recommend those who want to try this flavor also try the regular birthday cake flavor!

Not as good as the regular cake flavor, if you've had that. Maybe if you're a chocolate lover? Still, all of the Oh Yeah! bars are really good and this is no exception. Soft texture, kind of like a sugar cookie. Also very sweet, so if you're not into sugary-tasting stuff this might not work for you. I use these to kill my sweet tooth and they work well.

These are amazing. I think if possible I may even like this better than normal birthday cake. They are sweeter than some of the others favors. A nice chocolately flavor with undertones of vanilla and cake flavored. Such a treat and so good. These taste better than candy bars. I have these for dessert if I am still hungry after dinner on days I work out to get some extra protein in. I could eat these anytime though they are that delicious.

I LOVE the regular Oh Yeah! One birthday cake bars but the chocolate ones are gross! I don't know if I just got a bad order, but the bars taste like stale toostie rolls you got for halloween and forgot about for a year. I'm wishing I didn't just drop $28 on this :( Definitely get the regular birthday cake bars if you want to try a flavor.

So I must have a bad box, The packaging and wrapped product was in fine shape, no issues found. I opened the first bar and a smell of mold, a very strong mold smell wafted out. It was very strange, the product looked fine and as I hadn't had these before, I thought it was one off. Taste was not abnormal but not great. The mold odor was just too much; I opened a second one to see if it was a single bad bar... there it was again, more strong odor. Something must be wrong with these... sending back.
