Garrett Metal Detectors Hobby ACE APEX with 6 x 11 DD Viper Search Coil, Z-Lynk Headphone Package & Pro-Pointer at Z-Lynk

I bought this detector on a price drop that included the headphones and pinpointer. Although I already had a couple of pinpointers, I like this one better. I can't give this a good long term usage review because I've hardly used it, but I also have an ACE 300, and this detector has much better accuracy, probably due to the multi-frequency ability. It's about the same ease of use (maybe even slightly better) than the 300 I have. It's definitely light. Some other reviewers mention they don't like the rechargable battery, but with all of the things we recharge these days, I'm not sure why it's a problem. The manual claims 15 hours, and I don't know if that's accurate, but 15 hours and you'll be done anyway. Just go plug it into your phone charger. I only have one worry about the lithium battery, and that is that if it goes bad, is the detector disposable? After I use it more and if I find any drawbacks this summer, I may update the review.

Bought this metal detector for my wife so we could enjoy the hobby together and spend some quality time outside together. I helped her set up her settings and showed her how to use the detector and let her go. She took 10 steps and said she found something... not even 30 seconds in she found a silver dime. I really wish I hadn't got her this detector! This thing works amazing. It sounds great, especially with the wireless headphones, and the tones are very clear making it easy to predict your targets. The only improvement I'd like to see is if it were fully waterproof. For the price though, this is the perfect beginner metal detector and worth every penny.

I am happy with this Apex so far. Yeah it isn't a high end device that all the good youtubers use but this works great at the beach and parks I have been to so far. Just set it to MS and turn down the sensitivity a couple notches... you'll be good to go. Found some things the first run.. Haven't found a ring or big gold items yet.. Just a matter of time though.

Arrived when expected , noted pin-pointers battery was dead when it arrived replaced battery and it would not pair with head phones contacted customer service and advised them of issue, unit was promptly replaced arrived a day earlier than expected everything works right Thanks again Amazon customer service and Costal Tech
