Great eggs! Some minor other stuff.
First of all, we have used this poacher about 5 or 6 times and I really like the eggs. I also like that I can use Jumbo eggs if I like, but I would recommend Extra Large or smaller to make things a bit easier. So first of all, I was replacing a very similar (much older) product fashioned from stainless steel. Loved the eggs but they stuck and the little cups were a pain to clean. No amount of margarine or cooking spray would eliminate the sticking. So what I really went looking for was a non-stick version of the same, 4 individually removable cups. I had to wrap my head around the all-one-piece approach of this poacher, but decided for $8 I could give it a try. Like I said, I love the eggs. I like the white completely done but the yolks runny. If I wait until the water is about to boil before lowering in the eggs, I can achieve that. Of course if you want the entire egg cooked hard, that should just be a matter of more time in the pan. I have used cooking spray every time I have used this and the eggs do not even think about sticking. Clean-up is extremely easy by hand. We even ran it through the dishwasher with no ill effects. A note on the cooking spray - I love olive oil so I bought the olive oil Pam. I think it's a bit too strong for the delicate egg flavor and would recommend butter flavor. Removing the eggs is pretty simple. I use a large (larger than tablespoon) spoon to scoop them out and drop them in a bowl or on toast. Some of the minor issues I have had: ** Wasn't thrilled with the complete lack of info from the manufacturer regarding materials & care instructions. ** As mentioned in other reviews, the poacher is kind of shallow. You want to make sure you start with enough water such that you do not run out but not so much that it runs over the top of the poacher. Simple enough to test the water depth with the poacher before you put the eggs in it. Some water will still gather on top of the poacher and the eggs, but normal poached eggs are completely submerged anyway. ** If you make less than 4 eggs, the empty cups will fill up with water. If you lift the entire poacher out to slide your eggs onto a slice of toast, be careful not to dump a cup full of water as well. ** There was a very slight metallic taste to the eggs the very first time we used it. If that's a big turn-off, you could cook 4 throw-away eggs as the first batch. Have not noticed anything since. Lastly, someone else recommended cooking in a pan with a glass top. I have been doing that and it's nice to see the progress, but I still fing I shake the pan side-to-side a bit to see if the whites are cooked.

Looks ARE deceiving
Seller was able to get the product to me in a timely fashion, no problem there. This egg poacher looks and feels sturdy. But it seems to be painted black to LOOK like it's non-stick but it's definitely NOT non-stick. Even after thoroughly and generously buttering each cup, egg whites still stuck and I'm, again, going to have to scrub this thing to get it cleaned. UPDATE: We've used this poacher three times, twice coating the cups with butter and once using cooking oil. All three times the egg whites stayed plastered to the "non-stick" coating and now the "non-stick" coating is flaking off because we're having to scrub so hard to get the cups clean. Asking for my money back. This is pure crap. Definitely would not buy this product again.

Check for parts and oil the pan before each use
This is my second poach egg pan. It works well but remember to use a vegetable spray or some olive oil to coat the pan before you add eggs. I was hard on the first one and caused some of the teflon coating to be removed. When this one arrived, the lift knob on top was missing. Fortunately, I still had the first one and used the knob from it. Check for parts before you throw away the cover and box.

We use it every day. Easy to clean, easy to use, perfect poached eggs.
Works beautifully! My husband had replaced our old one with a silicone one. Don't buy the silicone ones. The eggs taste terrible and threw it out.

3 stars maybe
Perfect eggs easy to use ,no mess ,eggs slide right out. I don’t understand the negotiable reviews. Maybe people just can’t cook. Jumbo eggs fill the cups to the top!! I did use butter to grease the cups It’s been awhile now and a follow up review The finish coating has began to wear away and the eggs now stick. Has only been gently washed. Screw holding handle is now rusted. Maybe spend A little more and find a better pan. Note the handle gets so hot you have to use a pot holder to use.
