I recently installed the Briidea 2-Mile Electric Fence Energizer to protect my property from wild animals, and I couldn't be more satisfied. The energizer easily covered the designated 2-mile perimeter and provided reliable and effective deterrence against unwanted wildlife. One feature that particularly impressed me was the blinking status light on the energizer. The blinking light provided a clear visual indication of the energizer's operational status, allowing me to quickly and easily monitor its performance from a distance. This added level of visibility provided peace of mind, assuring me that the electric fence was functioning properly and maintaining a deterrent effect on potential intruders. The energizer was straightforward to install, and the build quality was evident. The unit felt durable and essential for outdoor use in varying conditions. Its low energy consumption was also a notable advantage, ensuring cost-effective operation over time. In terms of animal prevention, the energizer's power output proved to be effective in dissuading wildlife from encroaching on my property. The added security and protection it offered were invaluable, especially in the presence of wild animals in the vicinity. In conclusion, the Briidea 2-Mile Electric Fence Energizer has proven to be an excellent solution for preventing wild animals and safeguarding property. The incorporation of a blinking status light, along with its durable construction and effective performance, makes it a reliable choice for anyone seeking to protect their property from wildlife intrusions. I highly recommend this energizer for its functionality, ease of use, and reliable animal deterrence.

I have a small square yard in my townhouse and two sibling cats. The female is an escape artist. I have been looking for a top of fence solution to keep them in, because the invisible fences are of course circular, which would keep the kitties from roaming the corners of the small yard. I originally bought a discontinued havahart kit, but when i tested it it was so strong my finger hurt for hours; i could literally feel the current flowing - i think it pulses very slowly. Scary. So I was hoping that this unit would be less dangerous and thankfully it is. When the unit is plugged in, you can hear it tick as it sends the pulses. (So it doesn't actually matter if the pulsing red light on the unit is hard to see.) And the pulses, while strong, are very quick. So it’s literally a quick zap... it will quickly repel a small animal right off the fence without trapping them in flowing current. Installation: a many people do not realize how to make an electric fence work. That’s why lots of reviews say it doesn’t. Single wire: If you run a single wire (with a ground wire from the unit to a grounding bar) the animal HAS to be on the ground to feel the fence. This is because the animal itself closes the electric circuit and the current can then run through the fence, through the animal, and through the ground to the grounding bar. ZAP. But if you have a very long fence, then you need to have more than one grounding rod spaced over the length of the fence or else the circuit diminishes the further you get from the unit. Double wire: a top of fence solution like mine can't use the ground as part of the circuit and so requires two wires: one neutral and “hot” one. The neutral wire is fulfilling the role of the ground and grounding bar. When the animal touches both wires, ZAP. You need to string both wires so that they are close enough that an animal will touch both of them. But you install them so that they otherwise DO NOT TOUCH each other at all. You can see in my photos that I strung the hot wire through the insulators, and I strung the neutral wire on the bottom portion of the insulator so that the two lines never meet unless touched. If you want to save yourself literal hours of installation, I absolutely recommend poly wire over stiff steel wire because it is flexible and extremely easy to install. For safety, I connected it to green insulated wire to run directly to the unit itself, and from the unit to the grounding bar. The unit is not rated for outdoors, so a simple, waterproof enclosure should keep it safe. For the first time ever, my cats have been able to spend hours out there, without my worrying that the female will escape. The fence has only been up for a day and she is not even trying. I can only think she touched it once while unsupervised; that would’ve been all it takes. She’s not going anywhere, she can be out there with or without me, and I don’t have to be on high alert over her using the furniture to climb over. The beauty of this type of VISIBLE fence is that it only takes one or two shocks and your pet will likely be well trained. I expect that I will be able to leave it off and the cats will still stay in their space. COST: compared to wireless systems where your pet has to wear a special collar, this system is incredibly cost-effective - it's a fraction of the cost. All you need is the unit, polywire, insulators, and a grounding bar. CHEAP! *I should note that an Australian product called “Smart Cats Stay Home” sells this EXACT solution…for $400! PROS: Effective. Cheap. Quick to install. Safe. (For birds too.) Can be used in square spaces. Doesn’t require a collar. CONS: Needs a waterproof box. Difficult to find resources on how to install a fence with a double wire solution; an installation manual with diagrams would make this product a standout. (Hope my pics help!)
