Knork 153 Original Bouillon Stainless Steel Soup, Specialty Spoons matte

This is a real soup spoon, which is missing from most flatware sets. I love tools, and flatware is a bunch of tools. This one is perfect for soup. A word about the metal in this. I'm a silversmith, so I'm fascinated with metals. Stainless steel is really a group of slightly different combinations of metals with slightly different properties. Stainless is well named. It's essentially stainless. But this particular blend of metals is still considered stainless, although it CAN rust, if you don't dry it promptly, although it seems to take some abuse of this before it actually rusts. However, I love it because it's hypoallergenic and I have tons of allergies. The design of this whole set of flatware is beautiful and brilliant as far as ergonomics is concerned. This is important to me because I'm a professional artist, and love things that just work well. This is very well thought-out, and very easy to use.

I love Knork. It is so easy to use and feels good. It is balanced and has a generous spoon bowl. The handles are shorter that I thought but works great. They are not too short. They are a bit pricey but very durable and substantial.

The whole Knork range is some of the highest performance silverware available, and these are no exception. Excellent soup spoons, with good balance, durability, and bowl size and dimension. I do wish they offered a soup spoon with these proportions but a longer handle, but as is it's especially good for hefty foods and gives a pleasant balance in the hand.

I ordered this set of Knork Bouillion Spoons after reading in the question and answers that they were 18/10 Stainless steel. I just received my order a few minutes ago and the box is clearly marked "18-0". Quite disappointing! I am a bit miffed at people who post misleading information. Nevertheless, I'll keep these Spoons and gauge their service and functionality as a basis for any future Knork purposes. My initial impression of these Spoons is that they are very nicely finished, with a beautiful luster. No rough or unfinished spots anywhere. From end to end they are about 6" long. I would have liked them to be about an inch longer but, hey, these are soup Spoons and are the same length as my current soup Spoons. The Knork Bouillion Spoons are superbly balanced and fit/feel nicely in the hand. Very ergonomic! I can see why people are inclined to be enthusiastic about these spoons. The actual ladle part of this spoon is larger than most soup-specific spoons, making it much more functional, lending it well for a broader spectrum of culinary uses. I like that aspect. In closing, I am inclined to give this spoon a 5-star rating, but the fact that it is 18/0, rather than 18/10 (as reported by others), I can only give it 4-stars; however, I will update this review as I gain experience with the Knork Bouillion Spoons.
