Amazing product, just as described.

I bought these for my 12 year old son who plays travel ball and is super picky about his sliding shorts. My son is about 5' tall, 92 pounds and is on the very lean side. He still wears a size 10 pant because the size 12's are typically too big in the waist (25" waist). I would say he is right in between a size 10/12. But he typically wears a Medium in sliding shorts. I have purchased and tried no less than 7 pairs of different brands for him & have found that there is a huge difference in sizing, materials, and construction of sliding shorts across the brands. I had high hopes for these sliders because they appeared to be well made, I liked the soft material, and the mesh sections on each side of the cup holder seemed like a good design. Unfortunately, even though the waist fit nice & snug, the bottoms of the shorts (the part around the thighs) were "too big" for him (his words). Even though they looked snug to me, he showed how they would push up too easily if he were to slide while wearing these. Bummer. My son's thighs are 17" around, so if your kid's thighs are bigger than this, it should be a better fit. I should point out that the waist appears to run on the small side (which is why it fit my son perfectly around the waist). If your son has a waist larger than 25" but is normally a Medium, you may want to try a Large. Other than that, I think most people would be happy with this sliding short...my son is just super picky with an extra lean frame.

I bought these sliding shorts for our baseball-playing son, who has removed the skin on his hip several times while sliding. Although I prefer Mizuno for his baseball pants, the only Mizuno sliding shorts I could find were through a private seller with a shipping fee. I decided to try these Easton shorts because I could get them in two days with Prime. These fit true to size on our son - he's thin and wears a youth medium. They fit close but not snug, which allows his pants to fit properly and keeps the shorts from sliding up. The padding on the thighs is adequate, but should have come just slightly higher up on his hips. We won't even try to use the cup pocket, since none of these shorts hold a hard cup in place well enough. He'll wear a separate jock and cup underneath the shorts. The waistband is wide and at a good level for comfort. Overall these are decent shorts, but could have been awesome if the padding had gone higher up for better coverage.

Great protective side padding for sliding or getting pegged with a stray pitch. The only downside is it's impossible to fit a cup inside of the notch in the underwear as others have mentioned. Otherwise, love them!
