WW2 Pacific Theatre Theater
I enjoyed the nine different stories! What is nice, is that throughout the different books I heard the same geographic names, dates, locations and battles - each from a different perspective. An example would be hearing about the struggles the Marine's went through on the ground in Guadalcanal without air cover; and how they rejoiced when aircraft finally arrived to help in the battle. A future book you get to hear from the airmen who did arrive to help, and get to hear their individual stories as well.Sure, you could buy all nine books separately, but why?!Some of the narrator's are better than others, but none were 'horrible'.

It sounds like the video, The Pacific.
Tells a good story. My Dad did WWII fighting the Japanese in the Army. Combat Engineer. I'm glad I didn't have to participate in a world war. Vietnam was bad enough, but our leaders still keep sending our young men into war. Yes, there is a cost for freedom, but life needs to be rated a lot higher, on all sides.

Not a history of WWII in the Pacific
This is by no means a history of the Pacific Theater in WWII. Rather, it is a series of tedious memoirs, questionable tales, and some old-fashion petty score settling. Save your credit for an author's original spin on the events and details based on recognized facts; this is just myth-making.
