Best earplugs I've found....by far !
Reviews for this brand other earplug brands were helpful in my search so I wanted to do the same. These plugs are excellent ! Don't be swayed by their low cost for 3 pair, they're made by 3M. I'd had a pair of these for extensive international business travel and left them in a foreign country....I didn't know their brand because they'd been a gift. I'm extremely glad I found them again. They're on the side of being "larger diameter" but I'm a male with normal ear canal size and they work really well for me. On long international flights if I push them snugly into my ears they block 90% of the jet engine noise in flight ! which is a real benefit when you're trying to get some rest or sleeping. I can only imagine for loud power equipment and the like they'd really protect your hearing. Some really good features I find is the "flanges" that go in your ear are soft and pliable and the posts you grasp to insert the plugs and remove them are not flimsy, they're "firm" and easy to grasp. Before I found these on Amazon I'd ordered the Etymotic ETY-Plugs High Fidelity Earplugs, Standard Fit, Frost Tip for me they were way too small a diameter and no matter the position only blocked 30-40% of the noise at most, the Large would've probably been a better fit but I couldn't find them offered....I returned these. Prior to these I purchased the Junhua Reusable Silicon corded plugs....they had a very strong silicone smell when I opened the package and they were so soft and basically flimsy I couldn't get them properly positioned...the post you grasp to insert them is way too pliable and flexy which affects trying to use them... I returned these. I'm very glad I could find these replacements.

Great For Power Tools - PLUGS MADE IN USA
I've used these 3M earplugs for years with electric power tools, chainsaws, and while doing surveys in manufacturing facilities. They work well, are reasonably comfortable, and the lanyard is helpful when you remove just one for a conversation or both to hang them around your neck. If you wear a hard hat you can run the lanyard through the head strap or clip it to the helmet so they don't get lost. For convenience, I keep one in all my noisy power tool boxes (circular saw, chainsaw, router, etc.). I store them in old pill bottles rather than playing origami trying to stuff them into the overly small included case. Notes: >> Earplugs made in USA, Lanyards attached in Mexico, Case made in China. So you don't have to worry about funky Chinese chemicals leaching out when they come in contact with your skin. One plastic case is included with the two sets of earplugs. >> For me, these don't provide adequate protection while shooting. I tried them once shooting targets and experienced some ear ringing. >> Many power tools exceed the 85 decibel hearing damage threshold (NIOSH), so it's good to keep these in your power tool boxes. Ringing in your ears is a sign of hearing damage, which can be permanent. >> With this style of earplugs, pulling up on the top of your ear makes insertion easier.

Good choice with broad brimmed hats
Though they are not perhaps as sturdy as other options (I have good muffs for shooting and these are obviously not in the same class), these fit well in my ears and provide good protection both indoors and out. They are reusable which makes them a really good value. I always wear hats when I work outdoors and these work with my broad brims without getting in the way.

Very nice!
Came with a few pairs which I wasn't expecting so nice and the case is good too. Blocks sound well I use them when I rehearse with my drumline.

Can't complain
These are not particularly comfortable, but that's par for the course with these types of earplugs. They work well enough, I feel like they block enough sound, but still let in enough sound so that I am aware of my surroundings.

It depends very much on YOUR ears.
I will start this off by saying I wondered about the disparity of people saying they loved them and others saying they were worthless. I now know why. I got these put one in my left ear and it slid right in and wow did it block out the noise. I couldn't hear my wife talking to me facing me (not a bad thing, haha). Then I went to put the other one in my right ear and what? No matter how I angled it, spun it, pushed it, it would not go in my ear canal. I thought something is wrong with this one so I swapped sides. Again they slid effortlessly into my left ear but again, the right ear it would not go into the ear canal. So here I am, my left ear sound totally blocked and right ear it's like it's not even in there. I then had my wife take a look and she was able to get the right one in my ear but it would work its way out within a minute. It just didn't want to go and it hurt when it was in there. The left ear had been in there for 20 minutes and it felt just great. I took pics using a small bore scope but I decided nobody probably wants to see my two ear canals. Haha. So I leave my rating as 5 stars with the caveat that it depends on your ears. The one that went into my ear canal was really comfortable and totally blocked the sound out.

May not fit larger ears...
The quality feels great and I liked the durability of the rubber string that holds each plug together. However, the size may not fit larger ear openings. Fits my 9 year son perfectly. Also fit my wife quite well. For me, they keep wanting to slightly pop out during chores like mowing, weed trimming, and leaf blowing. I can get them to fit without popping out , on occasion, but that's not always. I'd recommend one of the off brands if you really want them to fit larger ear openings.

Great noise reducing ear plugs.
Bought these for husband to use. He uses them when using gas chainsaw and gas leaf blower. He said they work great and cut out the noise. He loves them and said they are comfortable.

These are great. I went with 3M because I know the brand and my hearing is important to me, but they weren't expensive are holding up really well (I'm still on the first pair) and they go in my ears with no problems (and stay there).
