Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off Exfoliator, 3.53 Ounce

I’ve used many scrubs for the face over the last 20 years; several of those as a licensed esthetician, so we’re talking $80 - $8 dollar scrubs/exfoliants. Gods honest truth, second best scrub I’ve purchased. Best non-spa or medical grade exfoliant to date! This scrub is a nice consistency, not too think, certainly not thin, but has the ability to move around the face without the product falling into the sink or onto the floor. You need about the size of a quarter for the face, maybe a little more if you’re looking to treat the neck area. I love using it on my chest, as I garden & it removes dirt/dead skin like a charm. This scrub/exfoliant has no smell & the perfect amount of sugar/grit to remove the dead skin, & surface level whiteheads that are in sensitive areas: sides of the nose, the chin, your hair line. Once applied, this works well with your fingers or a cloth. Once removed it leaves a 100% clean (no oil or slick feeling) sensation that allows for your product regimen or makeup application. Leaving your skin really looking flawless for the day. I am oily, so I use this every 2-3 days; I will be purchasing this monthly now, as I’m hard pressed to find an exfoliant that I: a, like & b, works! This product comes properly packaged so you can feel good about how it’s handled before it hits you’re doorstep. Do your skin a favor & give this a try. It’s very affordable & so worth it. Side Note: I haven’t been paid or given any free product from this company-it really is “that good”. Enjoy!

I have very dry, very sensitive skin, and this mask is one of the only products I can find that doesn’t burn it and leaves it smooth, soft, and bright. I’ve had the most success slowly spreading the undiluted product over my skin as it begins to melt, leaving it on for a few minutes longer than the instructions say, then rubbing it in and rinsing with lukewarm water. It doesn’t leave residue in my experience, but may not be the best for oily skin, just because it makes such a difference in my skin’s hydration! This is perhaps the best mask I’ve ever used, and once it’s gone I’ll definitely be ordering more. I am so glad I found Skinfood! Ever since I burnt my face badly—and I mean burnt; it was red and itchy and hot and peeling, almost like I’d given myself a chemical burn just following their normal instructions—with a single use of a popular skincare product, I’ve been wary of buying anything other than my sensitive skin soap and unscented lotion. My skin hasn’t been the same since it’s been damaged and everything else I’ve tried has only caused me pain. However, I found Skinfood’s Bitter Green cleanser on clearance at Ulta, and I think my flippant decision to try it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in years. Their products are so gentle on my skin and have made such a difference with my dry, perpetually irritated face. Since I had a great experience with the cleanser, I branched out to a few other products, including this one, and Skinfood is quickly becoming my favorite skincare brand!!! If only they had something that would help my hormonal breakouts...

I keep ordering this over and over again. Makes my skin so soft. I had sensitive skin and it works great. The hubby keeps “secretly” using it as well.

I purchased this 8mo ago and just finished it tonight and wanted to leave a review after I used it up. I really enjoyed this scrub it smells awesome and leaves my face soft for a day or two and I do notice a glow immediately after. I feel like using it more than once a week was too harsh on my skin and overall it is a nice exfoliator but I didn't see any long term results like an overall skin boost. Perhaps I was not as disciplined in using it once a week and more like every other week and that's why. I recommend using about a nickel size dollop for the entire face (you don't need a thick coat) and leave on for 10-15min but no more than 15 because leaving it on longer does nothing more than if you leave it on for 15...I tried!! I also noticed that it caused me to break out a few times because my skin was too irritated/raw and open to bacteria. I don't have an oil problem so I can't say whether or not it helps with that and while I have dry skin I use a moisturizer so it never dried me out. I decided not to repurchase this for now and to try something new. I would consider purchasing again.

I bought this product after using a well-known brand; however, the famous brand caused my face to become extremely dry and irritated. I ended up making my own face wash and then used this afterward. I absolutely love this product and would definitely buy it again. My face feels smooth and moisturized, with no irritation.

So I bought this scrub on the ever popular Korean skincare quest to avoid harsher, drugstore standard scrubs which are apparently too rough and damaging. I had seen this brand before, specifically the Peach Sake Toner, and wanted to try so this was a great excuse! Skin Type: Dry and sensitive, mild acne, 25-30 1. Value: Normally I'm super cheap and don't spend money on this stuff, so initially I was a little taken a back by how small the container is and how much I used per mask. You could probably stretch it out better, but I'm expecting 5-6 uses. However, as elaborated on below, I will forgo this annoyance due to the quality of the product. 2. The Scrub: LOVED actually using this, the two-in-one exfoliant and mask is a genius combo. I'm lazy and a busy mom, so being able to scrub then leave on felt like I was using a secret hack. The grit is enough to feel like you are getting something done, but my face wasn't red or irritated at all. 3. The Mask: Fantastic! I can do a million things with it on, doesn't budge, drip or move. Literally forget it is there and my skin feels AMAZING and soft after. 4. The Magic: So in an effort for a non-scrub option, I was trying out a sheet mask. The moment I put it on, it burned like hell. Took it off, wiped clean and immediately reached for this, packing my face with it. Did some Googling and people actual experienced red burn marks for 2-3 days after said sheet mask (oh, the coming review) even with it on for less than a minute. Left this wonderful Black Sugar mask on for 10min, washed off, no redness or irritation from the evil sheet mask devil - pretty sure it saved my face! 5. To Use: I did an oil cleanser, foaming cleanser then this mask. Scrubbed first and then left on for 10-15 minutes. Followed by serum and the other million steps in this routine. 6. Long-Term: Don't know if I'll see a major difference simply from this product, but exfoliating once a week is always recommended and this feels better than a lot of major drugstore brands plus the mask feels fantastic, so win-win! Thank you Black Sugar Mask for saving me from my own stupidity and keeping my face less tomato-hued. I will forever be grateful and this will be stocked in my closet for sure!

I have acne and have been using Clindamycin and Tretinoin every day. As a result, my skin gets dry and I end up having a lot of dead skin. My skin doesn’t look like it’s peeling MUCH but there is some peeling. It mostly feels like I have dirt on my face (dead skin) and I decided to use this to exfoliate. When I first used this, it made my skin feel SO SOFT and SO SMOOTH. After having used Tretinoin for about a year, this exfoliating scrub makes my skin feel so soft and supple. This scrub makes my skin glow. I still have lots of bumps and scars from my acne, which I assume will either never go away or take a really long time to remove entirely; however, it makes me feel so great to see my skin GLOW and see how much progress it’s made. It really brings out the best results. If you’re thinking about buying this scrub, PLEASE TRY IT! It’s less than 10 dollars and actually lasts you a while. DO NOT OVERUSE EITHER! Try once or twice a week! Oh and it also smells really nice 🧚🏼‍♀️✨

I haven't tried it yet but it came as expected it seems, I thought the tub was a bit small but it feels heavy and looks a bit bigger than the 3.5 oz. I'll have to update my review when I try it. I haven't noticed an off putting smell, just get a lemon scent but I haven't mixed it up yet it's still like it came inside the tub. UPDATE: I've only used this once so I don't really know if I can give a proper review but I think this is just okay. I think the sugar melts too fast to really exfoliate and I use this with a combination of products cleanser and other gentle exfoliating products since I have dry skin and get clogged pores easily. It smells like lemon candy to me personally. I think it did make my skin soft but I'm not sure if I would repurchase I'm debating on it. Maybe I'll try a different mask/scrub. It is a bit pricey in my opinion for what it is. A bit lack luster. I didn't personally break out from this product.
