Does seem to crush some of the cereal (we have cheerios in there right now) as well as spread them across the counter as you turn the wheel rather than just dispensing straight down.

if u want the feeling of a cereal dispenser, you can buy it. but if you are really looking for everyday use... you wont be liking the product. It is a miniature product as compared to what usually you come across in hotels.
