HAZARD 4 Stick-up(TM) Hook-Fastener Backed Universal Pistol/Gear Holster

Used in conjunction with a Maxpedition mag holder and system works great. Both the Maxpedition mag holder and this hold a full size pistol inside the 5.11 Covrt18 backpack. I like the snap retention as I toss my bag around switching in and out of cars and the house. I know it will hold the weapon still not fall out by accident. For my weapon, a Glock, the perpendicular retention strap covers the trigger solidly - no question nothing can easily get in there and cause problems. Glad I went with this version and not an elastic strap or no strap.

Excellent out of the package feel to it. The material feels very durable. I purchased this to house my Sub-Compact Millenium G1 9mm that i had inside my sling backpack. The large Velcro on the back was perfect for the Velcro lining in my pack. It fits securely in place and almost all of the straps are modular and can be moved and adjusted for multiple configurations and carry styles. Now i have absolutely no worries on whether my pistol will still be there after tossing around my bag. If you were torn between this or the cheaper ones ~8-10$.. Just buy this one instead, it is a much better build quality and is a heckuva lot more reliable.

Pretty easy to get set-up for my weapon. Thumb break is a nice addition to keep the gun secure. I have this attached to a velcro panel that I transfer between bags on a regular basis. No frills, adequate. I will say the wide strap that goes around the frame is a bit too easily caught on my trigger guard. (Glock) It flexes in very easily and makes the weapon tricky to holster. When I let out the strap to make the space bigger, it felt like the gun moved around too much. Maybe a stiffer fabric backing in that part of the strap? Probably not an issue for other weapons with narrower trigger guards.

After looking at several other inside the bag gun holsters or straps to secure a gun in a bag or backpack, this one had the best design of the others. Fully adjustable, soft material on the gun side, not like some others where hook side of velcro is touching metal. Have mine inside a RedRock Rover sling bag, fits and holds my Glock 26 or my 19 securely, its not a fast retrieve type holder. If you need a fast draw type look eslewhere. So far its working as advertized, fully customized to fit any gun. I will buy another one in the future.

Fit worked as specified

Great value and secure holster BUT the adjustable clasp that is on the inside of trigger guard gets caught on the slide's ejection port every single time. To remedy this, I sewed velcro onto the outside of the trigger guard and the back side of the clasp and moved the clasp to the outside so it can't snag anything.

I needed a way to secure my G17 in my 5.11 backpack. I wasn’t comfortable with it sliding around so I bought this Velcro holster to stabilize it. It works great! It was easy to set up and it works great for securing my pistol. It keeps the pistol low profile in the pocket and allows me to set it up for easy draw from my bag. I’ve bounced my backpack around quite a bit and my pistol has never come out of the holster and the holster has never come off of the pocket wall. I can also transfer this form my 5.11 backpack to my 5.11 sling which is great. Great EDC holster for off body carry.

I was using the 5.11 adjustable strap to holster my VP9SK, which is now carrying my mag as you can see in the pic, in my Vertx transit sling bag. The 5.11 piece worked for what I needed it for, but I was curious as to how the Hazard 4 stick up holster would work and I am glad I bought it. The setup and installation was straight forward and very easy. I placed the button strap behind the slide which works well when unbuttoning the strap and making your purchase. I think the button works well despite what others have mentioned. It's a matter of having proper tension on the strap while securing the pistol, so adjust it accordingly and you should be good. I would highly recommend this as I have multiple bags with the hook & loop design and can transfer my pistol from one bag to another with ease. All in all, this was a great purchase for me! One thing I would like to note is that the hook & loop on certain parts of the Vertx bags are not like the conventional variety (not as thick), so you may find that when making a purchase, that the holster may slightly come off on certain surface area of the holster. Not a big deal as it's still intact, but just wanted to point that out. Not a fault of Hazard 4, it's just how the Vertx bags are designed. As far as installation on conventional hook and loop surfaces, it is SOLID!

This holster does not have any molle connectors, unlike the product title. The back is just velcro hooks the securing strap fits to. There's no method supplied of attaching this to webbing. I have contacted the seller to see if they were aware and to find out what they will do about it - I will update, hopefully with good news (or at least good news on the seller).
