Vapur Unisex Outdoor Reusable Water Bottle

I spent ages trying to work out which bottle would work best for me when travelling. I have a huge array of bottles for different occasions- working/studying/hiking and needed something for travelling with hand luggage where I need something that can compact small to save space, but carries enough water for a flight and can be filled up from a fountain or sink in a departures lounge. I chose this bottle but was a little worried after reading that sideways pressure on the neck could cause leaks (there is a video on youtube about this). (See I told you I did my research!) Now I have used this a few times I am happy to report that I have had no problems with it. It fitted nicely in the side pocket on my rucksack and I could use the clip to secure it to a strap on the bag too. The one time I managed to spill from it was when I filled it up in the departures lounge and forgot to close the flip-lid. When I put it up in the overhead compartment on the plane I managed to shower myself and the aisle seat which was luckily (or unluckily) mine! I find the size of this bottle is perfect for what I need of it and it is a firm addition to my travel list now :)

I'm a travel photographer and spend a lot of my time walking around cities where I leave the hotel first thing in the morning and don't return until late at night. I now have 2 of these bottles which I always carry with me, and they are fantastic. First up, travelling. I generally travel with one rucksack full of camera gear and enough clothes for a few days. I take my bag in the cabin, and so space is of a premium. These bottles roll up really well and can easily fit into a pocket on the bag, or even into my pocket if needed. At my destination I simply unroll them in the hotel and fill with water before putting them in the side pocket of my bag ready for the day ahead. They come with a carabiner attached which aids in keeping them compressed when rolled up, and also attached to my bag to stop them from going missing. By using the bottles 5 times I have easily recovered the cost if compared to the bottles of water that I would have bought on my trips, and also reduced waste. These carry just under one and a half of the 500ml bottles that I would normally buy. During the day I've never had an issue with refilling the bottles from a coffee shop or restaurant. One of my initial concerns when looking at purchasing this product was in the quality, and whether or not the material would split after rolling it up so many times and carrying it with me. Water and camera gear do not mix well, after all. I have had no issues at all, and can't see any stress signs in the bottles at all. Using the bottle throughout the day is also fine. I can manage to use it one handed, so opening the cap taking a drink and replacing the cap are all quite straightforward. I tend to find myself doing a combination of both lifted the bottle upwards and sucking in order to get the water, rather than lifting it high enough to rely purely on gravity. All in all a great product. I have no regrets on my purchase and feel I have easily recouped the cost.

An update- the 1 litre bottle ended up leaking after a few uses, the smaller bottle is still going strong. I guess it’s a bit of a lottery with these bottles. This is my third bottle (lost the first, gave the 2nd away). Love them!! Love how flexible they are, how well they fit in my bag or in the pocket of a plane seat. Will never be without them. Just bought a 1 litre ‘bottle’ for a long hike abroad. What I love the most is being able to hook them to my bag, or just hold them by the hook

I am very impressed by the built quality and the ingenious space saving design. I love how it can be collapsed into such a small shape when it is empty, great for going out as well as no more bulky bottles invading my cupboard. When it is filled with water, the flatter shape and flexible material allow this bottle to be easily stored inside a rucksack pocket without rolling or over bulging, it is also a dream for slotting into tight space of the cooler, fridge and freezer. Unlike some similar looking cheaper versions that I have tried, this one is 100% leak proof even when tipped completely upside down. It does take longer to dry for storage compare to the conventional water bottles, but I can live with that considering everything else about it is just spot on.

The first one I ordered leaked straight out of the box. I got a replacement and now I'm on holiday (well, at the airport) and the replacement now leaks after only being used three times (two trips in the car and one on a train journey to London from Oxford so hardly hard work!). I cannot in good conscience recommend these to anyone! In fact, I really want a refund so I can buy a a better bottle.

-I hand wash it as if you put it in the dish washer it's prone to collecting the dirty water in the base/ part of the lid. I have frozen it several times, been travelling through airport security and to festivals with it and scrunched it up in a bag for pretty much every day since I bought it nearly 5 months ago and there's no real sign of wear. The carabiner is really handy for clipping it onto bag straps, or just as a carry handle. (note my clip was black not pinkish red) I'm considering buying another one, as I find that if it's within eyesight I'm just drawn to it so have been drinking more. I've also filled it with lemon tea and nuun sports tablets, and as long as you rinse it afterward (I put a drop of fairy liquid in with some water, close the lid and shake it), it should last you well!. I've also had many compliments on it, and when I had it at work some of my colleagues thought it was a hip flask ;)

Ok... As long as the lid is put VERY tightly on... Otherwise it leaks.

De momento muy bien, porque el agua sabe a agua, no a plasticos. He leído opiniones que dicen que termina teniendo fugas, pero de momento va muy bien. Eso sí, me parece un poco cara (16,58€) Por lo demás, se bebe muy bien de ella, se mantiene de pie, aunque esto da igual porque como es estanca da igual que esté de pie o tumbada.

Bought to use on domestic holiday so I could have a slim water bottle with me. Worked a treat! No leaks, lightweight and still able to start the day with 1L of water on me! Highly recommend.

This is easily one of the best purchases I've made this year. It's only $11, but it saves me at least $20 per week. The Vapur Element Bottle does exactly what it's supposed to do: it holds water, and when it's empty, it collapses down into a tiny space. I am a fairly serious street photographer and walker and it's not unusual for me to be out for 10-12 straight hours in the course of a day. I've been 100% comfortable leaving a full Vapur bottle in my bag next to a $2,000 camera + lens setup. It's that tough. I've filled the bottle up, squeezed it hard, tossed it around, and zip -- no leakage, no bursting, no nothing. The cap seals very tight on top and doesn't open too easily, which basically eliminates the risk of it opening accidentally. The Vapur seems fairly well insulated. I often throw it in the freezer before I go out, and the water tends to stay pretty cold for at least an hour. Unlike some reviewers, I haven't detected any type of unusual taste or smells coming from my bottle, though I do wash it regularly. And when it's empty, it squishes down really, really small and takes up virtually no space. It's perfect for travelers without much extra room. The Vapur also has a hook bracket contraption to allow it to hang off a bag or piece of luggage. Like the cap, it's very sturdy. It doesn't feel like there's any chance of it falling off. One thing to keep in mind: the Vapur will stand up on a flat surface if the bottle is full. But if it's half-full or less, it has a tendency to flop over and cause spills. But that's par for the course for a collapsible bottle. For this reason, I also wouldn't recommend the Vapur for use in a car. But for hikers, walkers, travelers -- it's a great, great buy. Two thumbs up. If mine broke I'd order another in a second.

I used this for a weeklong trip and it was extremely useful at the airport as I did not have to buy bottled water and when I was travelling at my destination so I could keep water with me. I am so happy with my purchase. I will be using this every time I travel!
