Great read on the history of my favorite distillery

A great read to learn about the Buffalo Trace Distillery and the history behind it. A good read for that bourbon fan in your family or for yourself.

We are big Buffalo Trace fans and throughly enjoyed this book ! Lots of history and facts about the bourbon and land Buffalo Trace owns

For me, the story began a bit slow and centered more than anticipated on the history of the region. While perhaps needed to build a foundation, I felt it went on a bit longer than I had expected or would prefer. That said, it picked up quickly and was fascinating to learn so much of the BT lore. Having toured the distillery and being an avid collector and fan of their work, I found it all very interesting and learned a lot you likely wouldn't get from a simple tour of the site. I recommend this book to anyone interested in not only BT, but tje spirits industry in general.

I love Buffalo, Barrels & Bourbon. It’s much more than a book about Buffalo Trace. It’s the story of the American Whiskey industry. This book tells the history of American whiskey with captivating detail. It also details the true story of how - with courage and perseverance - a family company ignited the current bourbon boom with Blanton’s and their other iconic brands. I know I LOVE it - because I have 25 pages turned down :)

Dieses englischsprachige Buch beschreibt die Geschichte der Buffalo Trace Brennerei. Dabei holt der Autor wirklich sehr weit aus. Die ersten Kapitel beschreiben die Umstände und die Entwicklung im heutigen Kentucky mit Ende der letzten Eiszeit, der Besiedelung der Region durch die Indianer sowie die Vereinnahmung durch die weißen Siedler. Natürlich muss auch ein Blick auf das Thema Bourbon und Eye-Whiskey geworfen werden. Dann wird explizit auf die wechselhafte Geschichte der Brennerei und ihrer Besitzer abgehoben. Ganz am Ende wagt Herr Pacult noch einen kleinen Blick in die Zukunft. Das Buch richtet sich an Enthusiasten der Buffalo Trace Brennerei und ihrer Produkte, an Hardcore-Bourbon-Fans und an Interessierte, die mehr über die Geschichte der Region Kentucky erfahren möchten. Nicht umspannen, aber manchmal fehlt mir der kritische Blick auf einige Dinge. Aber da der Autor ja einen guten Draht zur Brennerei und seinen Auftraggebern haben möchte, pinkelt er diesen nicht ohne absolute Not ans Bein. Trotzdem ein lohnenswertes Spartenbuch, dessen Kauf ich nicht bereut habe.
