Went together without incident or missing pieces. Manual is very good and the bags are labeled, which helps as there aren't any indicators in it as to when you need to open the next set. All in all this is a great value and I will be purchasing other General Jim sets in the future.

This is the 3rd set I’ve gotten from General Jim. Every set I have purchased has been really sweet. I’ve been building a city seriously since 2017. I wish I knew General Jim sooner. I have EVERY Modular and large set from Lego. This is same quality. I am going to fill up on General Jim from now on. Give them a try. If you are a brick head do not be timid. It’s 100% worth a shot. As for the missing pieces I read about…. I’ve had Lego leave full bags out. It happens. Please give this place a chance. I had a question regarding another set and the service was top notch. Customer loyalty program as well. REALLLLLLY want the ASYLUM. Looks amazing. My next piece….

I am adding this to my cityscape/train layout. This building is empty inside, but after doing a few builds, I have plenty of patters for beds, sofas, tables, display cases, and so forth. The outside is nicely detailed. No missing pieces. Pieces divided and bagged, though oddly the book didn't tell you when to move to the next set of bags. Each step uses A LOT of pieces, so to be successful it is important to "pick" the parts first and then add them all. It helps to see the parts laid out to know how the assembly goes. There were a few challenging sections, but nothing too extreme. Everything was engineered well. A good addition to my layout.

Obviously, the standard by which to measure this item is Lego. General Jim is much less expensive. Lego is built on a flexible plate height base, General Jim is built on a rigid base at a brick height. I prefer the rigid base. Much of the construction is similar.Lego has better instruction. Lego divides the project into more steps, especially when it comes to unique construction. Lego print is bigger, hence easier to read. Lego has whimsey that General Jim does not, this is the minifigure, plus furniture to put in the building, a toy airplane stuck in a tree, a bird on a ledge.My coffee shop is built, looks good, but I had to make some adjustments as I built. The instructions didn't make sense in a few places. I have some question on design choices, the open arch into the building when everything else is enclosed.If you are into such building, you might want to give General Jim a chance.

Please read the hole review. It's a fair review!Fist thing, is the manual. The images can be hard to see some of the details on as well as the colors are off a bit. There are some view that would be much better to interpret if they were showen straight on instead of st a angle.Second, is my kit was missing four parts!I have contacted General Jim's Toys and Bricks, but have not heard back from them as of the time of this review.Also, the manufacturer is listed as General Jim's but the box indicates Wange as the manufacturer. Not General Jim's!Third, a couple of parts pictured that need to be assembled, but the manual does not tell you which parts to use to create them. I guess they just expect you to figure it out for yourself.All in all, the bricks are pretty good quality. Not quite lego, but for the cost It is a good kit. if the instruction manual was More detailed on parts and placement, It would be a very, very good kid.It was a fun build but at times frustrating because of the manual. I am happy with the end result. It's a very nice looking building!**As a fallow up to this review, General jims toys and bricks did finally contact me about all my missing parts. They apologized for the delay in corresponsors. And all the missing parts from my kit and all the trouble. They sent me a brand new complete kit at no charge. They called me and I spoke to Stephanie, a very nice lady!!Thank you Stephanie.

My son and I love building these together. The instructions are easy to follow. General Jim's is a great company to buy from. They stand behind their products and they have great customer service. Once we finished putting it together, we realized we were missing the lighting kit. I contacted General Jim's customer service about the missing light kit and they got back to me very quickly. They sent out the lighting kit right away! We are very pleased with their products. We purchased 2 more larger kits. Can't wait to put them together. Definitely recommend this company.

Easy to assemble, great details, very pretty, I’m obsessed. Priced better than other building sets, I’m ordering the Havana Cafe next.
