This leather handle collar can certainly be treated with leather conditioner or leather oils. We carry Leather Oil and Leather Conditioning Paste, both of which will work well on leather products like this to maintain and condition the leather. The application is generally easy and simple. You can use small cloths to work either product into the leather.

Q: Will this fit a husqvarna 26" wooden multi-purpose axe?

I would think so. I have this handle guard on my 15" Husqvarna hatchet, and it encircles most of the handle. The cords are plenty long, so it should fit your axe with no problem.
