Q: These bags used to come in sizes. I have an English Mastiff - are these big bags?

They are somewhat large, but I have a Corgi-Spaniel mix who is much smaller than your English Mastiff, so I"m not sure these will be large enough for you-- I changed to another brand for the size and thickness. These bags are nice and thick, but they were too hard to tie up to seal off the smell for me. I changed to the Bags on Board bags that are 9"x14" and they worked better for me. Good Luck.

Q: What mil thickness are these bags?

Package says 1.2 mil. I have a Great Pyr and the bags have never leaked. He may sometimes need more than one bag for all his output, but these are the most successful of the many bags we have tried over the 9 years he's been with us.

Q: Can these bags be reliably opened without having to remove my gloves and wet my fingers?

These bags are easy to open. You do not have to wet your fingers. I would never try to pick up dog poop while wearing gloves.

Large and thick!

These are great! Thick, durable hefty duty trash bag type material. On my search for this type of bag I was constantly finding those thin short krinkly paper type plastic bags. These are long so there's no chance of getting poop on my sleeves, hand or arm. Love the handles that allow a good tight closure. Absolutely no smell comes through these either. Great price for the quantity and quality. Finally, the perfect bag!
