PENGUIN Escape North! The Story of Harriet Tubman

My daughter needed this for school and it was easy to find, buy and have it for her when she needed it. Also my 9yr old could read it over and over if she wants. She loves to read and I always like that these types of book note what kind of reader level it is meant for.

黒人奴隷としてアメリカ南部に生まれ、自由を求めて北へ逃れ、 そして自由を得た後に、南北を往復する危険な旅を何度もして、 何百人もの奴隷を自由へ導いた、実在の女性のお話です。 SSS難易度レベルは１ですが、特殊な内容のためか、 はじめは、ちょっと難しいと感じはしました。 でも、私は内容に興味があったので、全然苦にならずに読めました。 慣れたら、普通に読めると思います。 たった2000語の本で、これだけ内容のあるものが読めるというのはすごいと思いました。 読む価値のある一冊です。

Is an excellent book for my five year old to read herself (she was challenged, but not too difficult). It was tricky for me to explain slavery, etc, but she was very intrigued about it all.

An amazing woman who inspired many during a very difficult time in history. Great to have books that are historically accurate but written for younger audiences at their reading level. A great addition to our Black History Month collection.

Très bon livre! Le livre est bien conçu pour les enfants,destiné aux anglophones,il est également adapté aux enfants francophones car il permet l'enrichissement du vocabulaire,l'écriture est assez grosse et les phrases sont espacées. Des images agrémentent les textes également,ce qui suscitent l'intérêt des enfants.
