Good design easy to use

The design and construction of this butter dish seems good in general, but it isn't what I hoped for. A 500g chunk of butter that I bought at the store fits on the base of the butter dish, but the lid isn't tall enough; even if I press it down so that it's touching the butter, it doesn't touch down onto the base as it should (the lid is still about 1 cm or so above the base, so the butter is exposed to air). I don't really like it touching the top of the butter either. I'm disappointed because I really wanted a dish that would accommodate a 500g piece of butter easily.
